One of the most monumental Dota 2 tournaments in history kicked off in the Philippines, earlier today. However, unlike most tournaments, it has little to do with the prize money. It is all about the prestige. The prestige of representing your country in an international multi-sport event and vying for glory and a gold medal.
The Dota 2 Group Stages took place today, with 8 of the very best Dota players from each country, go toe-to-toe against each other. Only 4 would survive to move on to the Playoffs of the Dota 2 section.
In the end, only the Philippines and Vietnam stood tall topping their groups and booking a place in the Winner Bracket playoffs securing at least a Bronze medal for themselves.

Group A
In the Tiebreaker match, Vietnam managed to beat Thailand to qualify as the top seed from this group.
