TNC Predator looked completely unstoppable in their opening match on Day 2 of the MDL: Chengdu Major SEA Qualifiers. They went up against their familiar foe Carlo “Kuku” Palad and Geek Fam in one of the most awaited series of the SEA Qualifiers.

A 2-0 win for TNC Predator would guarantee a place at the playoffs for them. Geek Fam on the other hand, also desperately needed a victory to boost themselves up the table.

TNC Predator vs Geek Fam

Game 1:

TNC Predator grabbed control of the game, right from the get-go. With a dominant laning stage, despite using a jungle Enigma for TIMS meant that TNC were able to take control over the map very early. Constant pick-offs by Kpii’s Legion Commander allowed Armel and Gabbi to farm up a storm and easily take teamfights and objectives allowing them to close out Game 1 in under 30 minutes.

Game 2:

Game 2 was more of the same. TNC Predator dominated the Group Stages right from the start, winning all 3 lanes comfortably. With a Lycan, Templar Assassin and an Abadon in their roster, it didn’t take long for TNC to group up and knock down towers. Geek Fam could do little to turn the tides.

Perhaps a different draft would have seen them hold the line against the overwhelming push-power of TNC Predator. Raven on the Faceless Void needed more space and time to have an impact in this game. TNC just played at a pace that he couldn’t keep up with and eventually took the win to secure the series 2-0.

Geek Fam need to win their next matchup against Reality Rift and hope for TNC Predator to beat Cignal Ultra to force a tie-breaker, to keep their chances of qualifying to the playoffs alive.
