Details for the new DPC season have been announced with Valve focusing on consolidating qualifiers for Majors and Minors. The underlying theme seems to be one that aims to promote stability and ease of participation for qualifying teams. The season will consist of a total of five Majors and five Minors each.

Among the many changes, participants will now have to play a single qualifier for Majors and Minors with the. Additionally, DPC points will also be awarded to teams that make it to the regional qualifiers but do not make it to the LAN events.

One of the biggest changes this year is the fact that points are now earned by teams and not players. In order to counter balance this shift of power from players to teams, strict DPC point penalties will be applied to teams that use a substitute at a LAN (40% deduction) or those that remove a player after securing a slot at a minor or major (20% deduction in addition to the normal penalty).

The first Minor of the season will take place from the 7th to 11th of November, 2019 followed by a Major from the 16th to 24th of November, 2019. The qualifiers for these will take place from 30th September to 5th October, 2019. Valve has changed the dates for the qualifiers to accomodate Midas Mode 2.0. The new dates are 5th Oct to 10th Oct, 2019.
