Heroic's IGL cadiaN gets emotional following their win against BIG at DreamHack Masters Spring 2021.
The victory resulted in Heroic qualifying for the playoffs of the tournament, as they remain undefeated so far.
Heroic will be going up against Astralis in the finals of the group stage to further secure a semifinals slot within the playoffs.

Heroic’s in-game leader (IGL) and captain Casper "cadiaN" Møller was quite emotional after the team managed to qualify for the playoffs of DreamHack Masters Spring 2021. The Danish organization handed BIG a ‘2-0’ defeat yesterday, despite a couple of its player testing positive for COVID-19 just hours before the match was scheduled to take place. Both cadiaN and TeSeS decided to show up for the match, helping their team qualify for the playoffs despite the set back. The ESL Pro League Season 13 champions seem to be in solid form as cadiaN came forward to reveal that he was “close to tears," following their victory.

CadiaN gets emotional as Heroic qualify for Playoffs

Heroic had posted a crucial update about its CS:GO lineup yesterday, revealing that both cadiaN and TeSeS had contracted coronavirus. This had happened just a few hours before they were set to go up against BIG in the ‘Upper Bracket Round 2’ of the currently ongoing DreamHack Masters Spring 2021.

Immediately the organization had sprang into action trying to isolate the rest of the players, either sending them home or isolating them in their hotel rooms itself. According to Erik Askered - Chief Gaming Officer of Heroic, the entire team worked hard by “getting everyone another test, isolation plan, moving gear to new locations, contact with TO’s - all of it without missing a beat".

A similar sentiment was portrayed by cadiaN as well, who got emotional after the team’s victory against BIG that directly helped them qualify for the playoffs. While expressing that he was close to tears cadiaN stated that,

“The shit we have been through in the last 30 hours is unbelievable, and we still manage to beat a world class team ‘2-0’. Thank you to the team, thank you to everyone behind. I am speechless. PLAYOFFS DREAMHACK MASTERS!!!”

Both cadiaN and TeSeS despite the setback gave powerful performances, especially on their own map pick Nuke. Where TeSeS secured 24 kills with a K/D difference of +6, followed by cadiaN attaining 21 kills with a K/D difference of +4.

Despite having qualified for the next stage of the tournament, Heroic will be facing off against their local rivals Astralis in order to directly attain a semifinal berth within the playoffs. The Danish derby will be an exciting matchup with everyone eager to see who is the better team from the region.
