Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovacs has announced his departure from Na’Vi as his contract with the organization came to an end. The Slovak AWPer had been on Natus Vincere’s bench for more than a year now, after being replaced by Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy in Jan 2020. GuardiaN joined NaVi following his departure from FaZe Clan in Sept 2019 due to a drop in performance. In a recent interview GuardiaN revealed that he personally regrets this particular decision, as his performance was suffering and in hindsight, he should have taken a break until the start of 2020. Despite being absent from the competitive CS:GO circuit for more than a year, GuardiaN has expressed a desire to play at the top level once again.

GuardiaN departs Na’Vi

GuardiaN has been playing CS:GO professionally since 2012 and many consider him to be one of the best to have ever played the game. His year-long stay on NaVi’s bench is the longest time that the Slovak AWPer has been inactive from competitive CS:GO, in his entire career so far. Fortunately, his contract with Na’Vi has finally expired and the player is now a free agent.

After FaZe Clan benched GuardiaN in 2019, the Slovak was immediately signed by his former team Na’Vi. He took the vacant spot on the team’s active lineup after the retirement of Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko. This was the second time that GuardiaN was playing for the Ukrainian organization.

Unfortunately, his arrival was not received well by many in the community as GuardiaN would be stealing the AWP away from the hands of Na’Vi star player Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev. To make matters worse, Na’Vi failed to achieve anything significant and GuardiaN’s deteriorating form only added to their worries.

The pressure from the community along with Duncan "Thorin" Shields’ harsh opinion against GuardiaN forced Na’Vi to replace him with Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy in January 2020.

GuardiaN still wants to compete in CS:GO

Despite being away from the competitive circuit for more than a year his desire to return to playing CS:GO at the highest level is still intact. In his recent statement GuardiaN said that "I am open to consider any offer and grind back my way to the top-level events!"

GuardiaN had actually made a public appeal in September 2020 when he had announced his availability to different teams and organizations, but that did not transpire into anything positive mostly because they would have to buy him out of his contract with Na’Vi. Now that he is a free agent there is a chance that this may play out differently.
