  • Xyp9x was recently spotted training with Astralis on ESEA Refrag.
  • There is a good chance that Xyp9x might return to Astralis' active lineup for DH Open Fall 2020.
  • Xyp9x was seen practicing with everyone except for device and Bubzkji.

Astralis senior member Andreas "Xyp9x" Hojsleth might soon be returning to the team’s active roster as he has been recently seen practicing with the team on ESEA Refrag servers. The 25-year-old who has been out of action since the past 4 months seems to be undergoing some much needed oiling before returning to competitive Counter-Strike, however we won’t be seeing him play for the Danish side in the currently ongoing ESL Pro League Season 12.

Xyp9x Might Soon Be Returning To Astralis

There have been hints given before by the man himself that might have suggested that he would be returning soon, but sadly we have not seen the clutch master back in action just yet. After Heroic had won the ESL One Cologne 2020 last month, Xyp9x had dropped a Tweet which had everyone talking about his potential return while it also sounded like a friendly warning to their Danish counterpart.

Many expected Xyp9x to be a part of Astralis in the currently ongoing ESL Pro League but the Dane decided to skip the tournament, currently the only player registered under the team’s substitute position is Lucas "Bubzkji" Andersen.

However a few days back the 25-year-old was spotted training hard with the the Astralis lineup on ESEA Refrag. He was seen practicing with Lukas “gla1ve“ Rossander, Emil “Magisk” Reif, Patrick “es3tag” Hansen, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, and their coach Danny “zonic” Sorensen. This shows that Xyp9x is preparing for his potential return to competitive Counter-Strike, hopefully sooner than later.

It was odd to see Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz sit out of the practice which either means that the Astralis is trying out a new combination or the Dane might be taking a bit of breather. Another player absent from the practice session was Bubzkji who has missed out on quite a few matches.

Xyp9x will obviously not be seen in action at the ESL Pro League but we can expect to see him return for the very important DreamHack Open Fall 2020 which is acting as the Fall Major for Europe, and also a direct qualifier for IEM Global Challenge which might be the first LAN CS:GO tournament since the lockdown.
