- A CS 1.6 showmatch between Na'Vi 2010 and mTw 2010 might take place in the future.
- Zonic who was a part of the mTw 2010 lineup has agreed to participate in the showmatch.
- A Russian third-party CS 1.6 and CS:GO platform has also shown interest towards the showmatch.
The legendary Na’Vi CS 1.6 lineup from 2010 has recently participated in a couple of show matches, the first one was played against a team comprising of Ukrainian streamers while the other was played against the current Na’Vi roster. The hype and excitement attached to these show matches is immense and the most recent request that seems to have caught everyone’s attention is a showmatch between Na’Vi 2010 and mTw 2010.
Na’Vi 2010 Vs mTw 2010 Might Take Place Soon
The proposal which was originally made by British esports host and interviewer James Banks on Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko’s Instagram post, had immediately caught Danny "zonic" Sørensen’s attention who was a member of the mTw 2010 lineup.
Agreeing to Banks’ request of witnessing a showmatch between Na’Vi 2010 and mTw 2010, zonic had replied saying that “(It) would be awesome!”
The information was shared by James Banks himself via a Tweet wherein he tagged Na’Vi stating that another CS 1.6 showmatch was in demand involving Na’Vi and mTw. He confirmed zonic’s participation while asking others if they were in for the showmatch or not.
Russian third-party CS 1.6 and CS:GO platform FASTCUP while responding to Banks’ tweet said that they were in for the showmatch, but this would only be meaningful if all the players from the two sides would also agree to it.
History Between The Teams
The two teams Na’Vi and mTw were known for their fierce rivalry back in 2010, the two teams had faced off against each other a total of six times through the year with Na’Vi winning in all their encounters. Two of their most memorable matchups came in the grand finals of World Cyber Games 2010 and DreamHack Winter 2010.
Though the Danish lineup was never able to achieve victory against the Ukrainian giants in that particular year, the fans were always excited to see the two teams face off against each other making the rivalry between the two sides quite intense, to say the very least.
It has not been mentioned what iteration of mTw might place in the yet undecided showmatch if the 2010 lineup is to be names it would include the following players,
- Alexander “ave” Holdt
- Danny “zonic” Sørensen
- Martin “trace” Heldt
- Oliver “minet” Minet
- Christoffer “Sunde” Sunde
The last showmatch between Na’Vi 2010 and Na’Vi 2020 failed to live up to expectations when it comes to the peak and average viewership. It was in fact lower than the viewership observed when Na’Vi 2010 played against the Ukrainian stream team. Moving ahead these viewership numbers will be taken into consideration as they are one of the key factors that decide the success of a showmatch.
