After Syman Gaming lost to HAVU in a do-or-die match in the lower bracket of the FLASHPOINT European Closed Qualifier, due to an uncommon 5 AWP strat being implemented by the Finnish lineup, David “n0rb3r7” Danielian took to Twitter to express his disappointment on the strategy utilized by HAVU.

“Lost to those, who played 5 awps, very cool when the opponent plays without respect. Go play match matchmaking and use 5 AWP there. Gg no words…..”

HAVU who dropped down to the lower bracket after facing a ‘2-0’ loss against AVEZ, were up against the Kazakh organization Syman Gaming, who were facing their fourth elimination match in a row.

Securing the first map in their favor, HAVU was forced to put it all on the line against Syman Gaming on the second map. Down by a score of ‘14-5’ HAVU slowly mounted a comeback, starting out with one AWP on their side in the 20th round, which slowly turned into the whole side picking up an AWP by the 23rd round.

They continued to win one round after the other, taking the match into overtime and then claiming the map to eliminate Syman Gaming. N0rb3r7 might have been extremely angry with HAVU for using such a strat, but in no way was it breaking any rules. In fact, this is not even the first time that a team has used such a strat, with Fnatic doing the same against Na’Vi back in 2016.
