The opening match for Renegades at the DreamHack Open Leipzig 2020 against Cloud9 turned into a nightmare as Liam “malta” Schembri had to play the entire game without a functioning mic.

“My mic didn't work the whole game so the boys had to watch me run around on the radar like an mm teammate.”

It wasn’t that he didn’t try to fix the problem before the match, he tried everything from checking the Team Speak settings to replacing the headset and the entire PC as well, but nothing seemed to have worked.

Somehow the team made it through, starting off their campaign with a ‘16-10’ victory as Liam was able to communicate during freeze time and the quiet parts of the rounds by yelling out the information.

Renegades stepped into the tournament with a new roster as Oliver “DickStacy” Tierney was replaced by Jordan “Hatz” Bajic just a few weeks before the start of the tournament.
