eXTREMESLAND has gone ahead and announced the first regional qualifier for the main event. This time eXTREMESLAND ZOWIE Asia CS:GO 2019 will start off with the Japanese qualifier being held in partnership with Thirdwaves Corporation as part of their annual event, Galleria Global Challenge 2019.

The Galleria Global Challenge 2019 featuring a total prize pool of ¥1,000,000 JPY ($9321.00 USD) will once again function as the Japanese qualifier for the biggest Asian Counter-Strike event.

GGC 2019 will feature four open qualifiers with the winners proceeding on to play in the main event being held from 22nd-23rd September at the LFS Esports Arena, Tokyo. The winner of this main event will qualify for the eXTREMESLAND ZOWIE Asia CS:GO 2019 representing the country of Japan.

The open qualifier will follow a best-of-one single elimination bracket with the finals being a three-match series. Whereas the final event will feature a best-of-three single elimination bracket.

The registration for the event has already started. Interested players and teams can register themselves by clicking HERE.

Schedule for the Open Qualifiers is as follows,

  • Open Qualifier 1 - 24th August

  • Open Qualifier 2 - 25th August

  • Open Qualifier 3 - 31st August

  • Open Qualifier 4 - 1st September

Last time it was SCARZ who represented Japan in Shanghai. Soon after the eXTREMESLAND 2018 came to an end, SCARZ had a fallout with their sponsors Absolute and this lead to the termination of the team. Will the disbanded roster come together to play for their country or will a new team represent Japan at the event?
