An announcement has just been made from Virtus.pro stating that they have ceased their CS:GO line-up from any and all competitive activity until further notice.
The team have not been able to achieve much in 2018. They faced relegation from Faceit London Major 2018 while finishing at a not so great position five at the BLAST Pro Series: Istanbul 2018. To top it all of the most disappointing moments were when the team failed to qualify for both the main stage of EPICENTER 2018 and ESL Pro League Season 8 – Finals.
The team had recently undergone a massive change in its long-standing roster as they witnessed the departure of TaZ, Snax & byali from the team being replaced by MICHU, snatchie and morelz.
But it looks like the team still has not found its footing, hitting the bottom hard as they failed to overcome their opponents, X-kom Team in today's Lower Bracket match-up in the Katowice 2019 – European Closed Qualifier.
This is what Roman Dvoryankin, Virtus.pro General Manager had to say,
“After London Major, we were quite optimistic about the potential of the current lineup. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. The long-term strategy for us is to build a competitive team around young players and we will follow it while making decisions. I’d like to ask our fans to be supportive in the next couple of weeks”.
Virtus.pro will be announcing their next steps by the end of the year.
