The two best teams in this season’s DPC continued their rampage at MDL Disneyland Paris Major topping their respective groups and securing an upper bracket berth for themselves in the tournament. Here’s how Group A and Group B went down, earlier today.

Team Secret - Unbowed, unbent, unbroken

The European Giants had a stellar unbeaten start to the MDL Disneyland Paris Major, not dropping a single game and destroying Team Empire and Chaos Esports Club with two 2-0 victories.

Their first game against Team Empire saw them use a Pudge very effectively securing multiple kills which lead to an easy sub-30 minute victory for Team Secret. While Game 2, seemed closer, Team Secret were never really off the driver’s seat as they just cruised to victory to move on to the Winner’s match.

The European Champions continued to go on a tear in their second series of the day, securing another 2-0 victory to qualify for the upper brackets.

Virtus Pro - Ours is the Fury

The current leaders in the DPC charts, VP have also secured qualification to the Upper Brackets, albeit against slightly stronger opponents.

Their match against beastcoast was quite kooky, to say the least. VP decided to pick up some very unorthodox heroes including a BroodMother and a mid Ancient Apparation as well as experimenting, a lot with their playstyle. In the end, they managed to snatch a 2-1 victory to setup a showdown against Team Liquid.

Game 1 against Liquid was probably once of the best games of the year so far, with back-and-forth teamfights, buybacks, ridiculous amounts of damage and a nail-biting finish. VP emerged on top, with an incredible teamfight victory allowing them to secure a 1-0 lead.

Game 2 was a relatively tame affair, compared to Game 1. All credits to VP for executing their draft spectacularly and taking advantage of every single tactical mistake that Team Liquid made to secure the win.

SEA reps Mineski and Fnatic will now kick off their journey through the Group stages of the MDL Disneyland Paris Major. You can watch their game HERE and HERE.
