After a long break, the DPC is finally under way with the Bucharest Minor. Day 1 witnessed Group A being heavily contested by Keen Gaming, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Gambit Esports and Team Team.

Gambit Esports managed to emerge out of this group as the top seed, extending their fantastic run of form which saw them win the WePlay! Dota 2 Winter Madness over teams like OG and Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Keen Gaming finished in 2nd place after two wins over NiP, which relegated PPD’s squad to the lower brackets of the playoffs. TEAM TEAM, unfortunately, didn’t manage to secure a single series victory, despite putting up stiff resistance to both NiP and Gambit Esports.

That said, here’s the highlight reel for the day:

Daxak is an absolute raidboss

The very first series of the day produced the first rampage of the tournament as Daxah turned up on his pain-train to destroy TEAM TEAM with a Triple Rampage on his Medusa.

TEAM TEAM show that they’re no pushovers

The NA team walked into this tournament as one of the weaker teams, but they showed that they meant business in the very first game of the day, pulling off some fantastic combos against one of the favourites to take this Minor: Gambit Esports

NiP's comeback

TEAM TEAM were poised to take a Game 2 victory and force it into a Game 3. But Fata and NiP had other ideas, great execution of a teamfight at the 40-minute mark turned the tides and instigated a comeback.

Black Hole followed up by the Hammer = Annihilation

The comeback against TEAM TEAM in Game 2 was secured thanks to yet another beautifully crafted teamfight from NiP.

Daxah destroys Keen Gaming

Another rampage for Daxah sealed the deal for Gambit Esports today. The sheer number of plays he pulls off in this series of events is practically mind-boggling. He starts off with a perfectly timed Aegis steal, then chooses the exact right targets to secure kills one after the other to secure his 2nd Rampage of the day and Gambit Esports’ progress into the Upper Brackets.
