WESG 2017 has found two more contenders for it’s APAC finals, which starts on Jan 11th, 2018 and will take place until Jan 14th, 2018.
Happy Feet and TNC Philippines survived the online Philippine qualifier of WESG 2017 earlier today, and they didn’t lose a single game throughout the entire bracket. Notable teams that Happy Feet defeated include Execration and YoungMinds, while TNC Philippines knocked out Entity Gaming on their side of the bracket.
Other Filipino teams that didn’t make the cut into the WESG 2017: APAC Finals include TaskUs Titans, Alpha Gaming, and Neon Atomic.
TNC Philippines is basically TNC Pro Team but with one roster swap due to WESG’s strict 1-nationality rule. Armel Paul "Armel" Tabios will be standing in for Theeban “1437” Siva in the TNC roster which recently had a great performance in the MDL Macau Minor 2017. It also looks like Carlo "Kuku" Palad has temporarily transitioned into the Hard Support role following this change.
TNC Philippines and Happy Feet join a 20-team talent list at one of the biggest Esports gatherings in the Asia Pacific region which includes teams like Signify, EVOS, 818`Esports, Fire Dragoon, Seventh Heaven, iClen, Rock.Y, Team Lebanon, Team Kazakhstan and Keen Gaming. The rest of the slots will be filled up before long as the regional qualifiers for the rest of the regions are beginning to wrap up.
The WESG 2017: APAC Finals will have a massive prizepool of $92,500 on the line. Twenty Dota 2 teams from all over the Asia Pacific region will assemble in Jiaozhou City, China for a shot at the prizepool as well as a slot in the WESG 2017: Grand Finals which will feature a much larger $1,500,000 prizepool.
The groups and format of the WESG 2017:APAC Finals will likely be announced later this month after the rest of the qualifiers concludes.
