SEA’s regional qualifier for TI9 kicked off earlier yesterday. With each region only having one spot available at The International 2019 from their closed qualifiers. The International 9: SEA Regional Qualifiers were one of the most intense ones across all the regions. It saw some ridiculous comebacks, so trademark throws and most of all, some incredible Dota 2.

8 teams started off in the Group Stage. Of these only 4 will advance to the double-elimination playoff bracket. The rest will be eliminated.

One of the favourites to qualify through the final spot, BOOM ID was eliminated from the International 2019: SEA Qualifiers after a dismal showing in the Group Stages. A 3-4 record meant that they were eliminated alongside EVOS Esports, Resurgence and upcoming Vietnamese team, 496 Gaming.

So the four teams that’ll battle it out in the playoffs are Team Jinesbrus, Team Adroit, Team Amplfy and Mineski.

Of these, Team Jinesbrus are definitely the favourites. The team built, just in time for the qualifiers boast of some of the best-known names in Korean Dota 2 with Forev, Febby and March leading the team. 23savage and Gunnar provide some much-needed explosiveness to the lineup which has brought back ‘Caveman Dota’ back to international Dota.

However, it is not going to be an easy road. Team Adroit and Team Amplfy have shown that they can turn it up a notch and go toe-to-toe with the best, in this qualifier. While Mineski, recovered from a poor start on Day 1 to turn it around and go undefeated on Day 2. If things continue clicking, Mineski might just be able to upstage Jinesbrus.

The action resumes tomorrow with the playoffs where Mineski will take on Jinesbrus and Adroit will face-off against Amplfy.
