The International 8 Open Qualifiers Announced

After 22 huge events in the Dota 2 Pro Circuit this season, the road to the biggest esports tournament of the year is finally here. The Open Qualifiers have opened up their registrations.

While 8 teams have/will earn their invite to The International 8 via the Dota Pro Circuit tables, the rest have to qualify through the bloodbath that’ll be the regional qualifiers. To give every single team in the world a shot at the glory, prestige and the massive TI8 prizepool Valve opens up the Open Qualifiers every year.

Over the years, we’ve had several great storylines developing right from the Open Qualifiers of The International including TNC Pro Team in TI6, and Evil Geniuses in TI6. With almost every other team making last-minute roster changes and thereby getting disqualified from getting a direct regional qualifier invite, this year’s Open Qualifier will be one of the biggest massacres we’ve ever witnessed.

Each of the regions will receive two Open Qualifier slots just like the previous years. SEA, EU, CIS, NA and SA regions will be organized by FACEIT on their dedicated platform, featuring up to 1024 teams each.

Don't have a team? Not to worry.... Queue Solo

For those unable to find a team to play in the Open Quals, there is a system in place this time around. FACEIT’s team finder application helps connect players and teams with specific filters based on roles, skill level, location, country etc. It’s an excellent tool to meet like-minded people, connect and form your own team.

But that’s not all, solo signups are also possible this time around. Each player will be matched with 4 other players to form a team of 5 that can play in the Open Qualifiers.

You can also use our Forums HERE, to make a team to compete in the Open Qualifiers.
