The Cobx Indian Esports Championship - An online Dota2 and CSGO tournament with Rs. 10 lakhs up for grabs

COBX Gaming announced that they were set to invest over 10 million Dollars in Indian Esports earlier this year. Their first foray will be The COBX Indian Esports Championship which will feature the best DOTA 2 and CS: GO teams from all over India, where they are set to duke it out for pride, glory, and the lion’s share of the 10 Lakh Rupees prizepool from April 28th – May 15th, in a tournament that will be conducted entirely online.

The event marks the next stage in the Indian Esports’ evolution, being the very first Indian premier online-only event to feature a prizepool of this magnitude.


There will be two phases to this tournament. Both phases will be played entirely online.
Phase 1: The Open Qualifiers (28th April to 30th April, 2017)

All teams will be placed in a single elimination bracket. Each match will be a best of one (BO1). The top 8 teams will move on to Phase 2 aka The Playoffs.
Phase 2: The Playoffs (May 1st 2017 onwards)
The top 8 teams from the previous phase will now compete in a double elimination bracket. All matches in this phase will be best of three series (BO3).


The total prize pool for the event is INR 10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakh) with INR 5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakh) being allocated to DOTA2 and CS:GO each. Prize money will be split amongst the top eight teams in each discipline. With the winners getting the lion’s share of the prizepool.


The entire tournament will be broadcast live on COBX Gaming’s YouTube Channel.
