Team Jinesbrus, Team Adroit and EVOS Esports have taken three of the six remaining SEA Regional Qualifiers slots after hard-fought victories in Day 2 of the Open Qualifiers.
They will now join BOOM ID, and Mineski in the battle to determine which SEA team joins Fnatic and TNC Predator in The International 9.
Team Jinesbrus picked up right where they left on Day 2 of the Open Qualifiers, simply breezing past EVOS Esports in a 2-0 victory to book their place in the regional qualifiers. Gunnar’s impressive Ember Spirit was one of the jey factors as he disintegrated EVOS Esports with some amazing plays and rotations. However, the highlight of the show was 23savage’s Aghs Morphling.
On the other side of the bracket, Filipino representative Team Adroit managed to secure a place in the SEA Regional qualifiers after beating down Team Resurgence, 2-1 in a close series. Team Resurgence pulled off a surprise upset in Game 1 of the BO3 primarily thanks to a stellar Clockwerk performance from Ponlo. But Adroit struck back in Games 2, and 3 using their experience to outdraft Team Resurgence and score a win sending them through to the Regional Qualifiers with a 2-1 victory.
Finally, to determine the last team who will qualify for the International 9 qualifiers, Team Resurgence went toe-to-toe with EVOS Esports. In Game 1, Team Resurgence started off on a good footing thanks to a surprise Ursa pick. They dominated the lanes and used that to snowball to a 1-0 lead.
Game 2 started off in similar fashion for Team Resurgence. But great plays from inyourdream and Facehugger carved open the game for Evos Esports allowing them to come from behind and secure the win.
In the deciding Game 3, EVOS Esports pulled out an IO-Gyrocopter combo which Team Resurgence simply couldn’t handle. Inyourdream, quite simply, ran at the enemy team at will and secured the Game 3 victory, booking a place at the Regional Qualifiers.
The action resumes once again, tomorrow with the SEA Open Qualifiers #2. With EVOS Esports, Team Jinesbrus, and Team Adroit out of the way and 3 more spots up for grabs, the other SEA teams who are yet to qualify will be giving it their all, to book a spot in the regional qualifiers.
