With the Playoffs taking place in full swing at the IeSF World Championship 2018. The clash of the SEA countries Philippines and Thailand was surely the match-up to look out for in the Round of 16.

Both teams represent the best CS:GO talent that the countries have to offer. The clash between the two sides was a derby match of the SEA region with both the teams playing for a lot more than just to qualify onto the quarterfinals.

Road To Playoffs

TNC finished at the top of Group – C defeating both India and Lebanon without dropping a sweat. With not much challenge coming its way yet, the team was surely looking forward to a promising opponent in the Playoffs.

Beyond Esports ended their group stage journey as the runners-up of Group – F dropping their match against the Romanian team, Nexus while finding success against the Swiss team, Berzerk Gaming.

Round Of 16

TNC faced Beyond on Dust 2 in their first match where a tough rally ensued between the two teams with Beyond managing to clutch out an extra round to take lead in the first half while playing CT-sided. This lead was wiped off the scoreboard as soon as TNC shifted gears and hit back hard in the second half to take the game away with a score of ‘16-13’.

Beyond retaliated in the second game that took place on Mirage where the Thai team stomped over TNC to claim victory with a score of ‘16-8’. Starting off strong, Beyond snowballed to a five-round lead which TNC couldn’t catch up to leading to a loss for them.

The decider was played on Nuke where Beyond continued to win rounds in succession which TNC found extremely difficult to deal with, they surely managed to pick a round every now and then but couldn’t convert it into a lead for themselves. Unable to stop Beyond and falling prey to the mounting pressure TNC gave way to Beyond, who won the match with a score of ‘16-10’.

With Beyond Esports coming out as the victors of an intense and hard-fought 3 match series, they qualify onto the Quarterfinals of the IeSF World Championship 2018 whereas TNC reaches an end to their journey within the Championship.
