PUBG Mobile India Tour with a prize pool of ?1.5 Crore announced

One of India’s biggest ever esports tournaments and of the biggest mobile esports tournaments in the world: The PUBG Mobile India Tour with a prize pool of a whopping ?1.5 Crore has just been announced. The tournament is all set to kick off on July 15th 2019.

This is one of India’s biggest ever PUBG Mobile tournaments and will likely attract much attraction from a fanbase that is beginning to receive a lot of love from Tencent in recent times.
 


 

Tournament Format

 

In total there are 6 phases.
 

  • In-game Qualifiers:

    Squads will play 15 classic mode matches held over 7 days. The scores of the squads’ 10 best matches will be considered and 500 squads will qualify for the next round.

    Map: Erangel
     

  • Online Playoffs Round 1

    The 500 Squads that make it past the In-Game Qualifiers will be divided into 25 Groups with 20 Squads in each group. Only the top four squads, by score, from each group, will move on to Round 2.

    Maps: Erangel, Vikendi, Miramar and/or Sanhok
     

  • Online Playoffs Round 2

    The 100 Squads that make it past the Online Play-Offs Round 1 will be divided into 5 Groups with 20 Squads in each group. All squads will play 3 matches each. The top four squads, by score, from each group, will move on to the Group Finals.

  • Group Finals

    The Group Finals will be a LAN event held in various places across the country.



    The top 20 squads from the Online Playoffs Round 2 will move on to the Group Finals. These 20 squads will play five matches. Four squads with the highest scores move to the Grand Finals.

  • Wild-Card Matches

    The Wild-Card Matches will take place online.

    The bottom 16 squads from each group (a total of 64 squads) will compete in a Wild-Card Phase. These 64 squads will be divided into four groups of 16 squads each. Each group will play five matches. The squad with the highest score from each group will join the Grand Finals.

  • Grand Finals

    The Grand Finals will take place in Kolkata on October 20th.

    The top four squads from each of the four groups (total of 16 squads), plus the four winning squads from the Wild Card matches, will play in the Grand Finals. These 20 squads will play five matches.

There are 4 Groups in which teams can try their luck to get themselves to the Grand finals. The Schedule for these Groups and Phases are listed below:
 


 

Tournament Rules

 

Scoring:

The best teams of each phase will be picked on the basis of ‘Total Score’.

The Total Score = Kill Points + Position Score

Where each kill gets a squad 1 Kill Point.

And Position Score is dependent on their placement at the end of the game.

This means that teams will have to be as aggressive as possible and constantly be on the lookout for kills in the In-game Qualifiers to move forward.

Rules and Regulations:

 
  • You must be an Indian resident.

  • You must have an account of at least level 20 and must be Platinum V or above.

  • You must be part of a squad. Minimum squad size is 4.

  • Camera restrictions: FPP, TPP

  • Server Region: Asia

  • Emulators or any other kind of third-party tools/hacks which allow them to play the game on a PC is banned.

  • Players cannot undertake personal streaming without prior approval from Tencent Games. This offence can lead to squad disqualification or a tournament ban for the offender.
