OpTic Gaming has received yet another shot at the TI8 invite that seemed 'so close, yet so far' just days ago. The North American team will be replacing OG at the China Super Major scheduled to kick off June 2.

Left with an incomplete roster after Tal "Fly" Aizik and Gustav "s4" Magnusson left to join Evil Geniuses, OG couldn't prepare an updated roster in time for the final Major of this season. Perfect World found a replacement on short notice, giving OpTic Gaming one more chance at a TI8 invite.

As the only North American team still eligible for a direct invite to The International 2018, OpTic are only 135 QP behind the top-8 in standings. Their immediate competitor for the 8th position, VGJ.Thunder, are also playing in the event, setting up for a unique rivalry. As long as OpTic manages to reach the top 4 and finish above VGJ.T, they will guarantee an invite (unless Team Spirit, TNC Predator or The Final Tribe somehow win the event).

The penultimate event of the season before The International itself will commence in just a few days, held on June 2-10 in Shanghai. SuperMajor will feature a 50% increase in prize pool: $1,500,000 and 2,250 Qualifying Points.Top of Form
