Christmas season is upon us and with it comes all the joy of the holiday season. Valve’s gift to the Dota 2 community this time around is the new season of Frostivus and we can’t help but feel excited.

In October, Valve announced that Frostivus will be released in mid-December and we are somewhat in the middle here so it isn’t unfair to expect it to drop anytime soon. In 2017 we saw a series of mini-games as part of Frostivus but it wasn’t too well received by the community. The mini-games were decided via a contest held by Valve and the winner went on to receive 30,000$. Unfortunately, no such announcement was made this year, meaning, whatever the event is should definitely be a more polished product. The Frostivus treasure was also released during the event. A new treasure is also expected this time around, especially with Valve calling on Workshop artists to submit their designs.

Also on the cards, is the new Dota 2 hero that was revealed at TI8, Mars as well as Rubik’s Arcana. Will Valve be able to spread the joy this holiday season or will their Christmas cracker fizzle out?
