Last week saw 2 more Regional Qualifiers being announced for eXTREMESLAND-2018.
The first qualifier to be announced was for the Oceania Region which primarily consists of New Zealand, Australia and some other neighbouring islands. One team will be making it all the way to the ‘Shanghai Finals’ from the following region.
The ‘ANZ Qualifier’ which is short for ‘Australia-New Zealand Qualifier’ was announced on 7th August. The qualifier comprises of three parts, an ‘Online Qualifier’ which commences on 18th August followed by a ‘Closed Qualifier’ set to take place from 25th-26th August and finally a ‘LAN Finale’ scheduled for 8th September.
Top 4 teams from the ‘Online Qualifier’ will get an opportunity to compete against the 4 direct invites, which will comprise the ‘Closed Qualifier’.

Top 2 teams from the ‘Closed Qualifiers’ will be flown down to Sydney where they will battle it out in a BO5 series, the winner of which will qualify for the eXTREMESLAND 2018 Asia Finals.
The LAN Finals will take place on 8th September at Bankstown Sports Club, Sydney. This will be a free to attend event with the event organizers ‘InstaFrag’ providing a one-month free subscription to their platform to all the attendees as well as to all the teams participating in the Open Qualifier.

The second qualifier was announced on the 9th August for the Middle East Region. The UAE Qualifier will consist of a single LAN Qualifier, registrations to which are currently going on.
The LAN Qualifier will take place on 17th and 18th August at Elements Café in Dubai. The event is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM (17:00) on both these days. Top two teams from the following qualifier will proceed to the ‘Middle East Finals’, coming one step closer to 'Shanghai Finals’ along with the ‘$100,000’ prize pool.
