We may be 3 months away from ESL One Mumbai 2019, but that doesn’t mean that the preparations haven’t begun. ESL’s initial announcement mentioned that 7 teams will be directly invited while 5 teams will make it via the qualifiers. The 300,000$ event may not be a part of the DPC circuit, but it does have a substantial amount of money and prestige attached to it. Here’s how teams can qualify for it.
Open qualifiers will be held for the regions of NA, EU, SEA, China and India. All Regions have 2 slots for OQ teams and only 1 qualifier will be held per region from which the top teams will qualify. The OQ’s will be held across 3 days with 2 rounds on each day. The semi finals will be bo3’s.
The OQ for each region will kick off on the 29th of January and the schedule and registration links can be found here.
The Regional Qualifiers for each region will involve 2 invited teams and 2 OQ teams. The format will be a double elimination playoff bracket with each game being a bo3. The finals will all be bo5s with the winner bracket team getting a 1 map advantage.
All the regional qualifiers will kick off on the 27th of February and last 3 days. The schedule for the same can be found here.
