Rajdip Gupta, the founder of a leading global messaging and voice API company, Route Mobile has just announced his entry into the esports space in India. According to this report by economic times, Rajdips’s current venture COBX will look to invest a sum of 10 million USD to help grow and promote esports in India. The current plans include an online domestic league, an international league and a team based out of India which is able to challenge at an international level.
Gupta, who recently sold 10% stake in Route Mobile for $23 million was quoted as saying that COBX wants to create awareness while providing an opportunity and a platform for Indian players.

The online league for Indian teams will kick off in the second half of April, and will feature a prize pool of 10 lakh INR. For a pure online format, this is currently the highest ever prize pool in India.
