The SEA Open Qualifiers for the Bucharest Minor ended in dramatic fashion as Chinese team, Zeus Gaming ended up going all the way, beating down WG.Unity and 4SGK to seemingly win a spot in the SEA regional qualifiers.
However, after several complaints were made by the SEA Dota 2 community, Valve has stepped in and has disqualified Zeus Gaming from the SEA Open Qualifiers.
Zeus Gaming has been disqualified from the SEA Open Qualifiers. They are a Chinese team that were inappropriately competing for a SEA slot. WG Unity will face off against 4SGK in a BO3 to determine the team that moves on to the SEA closed qualifiers.— DOTA 2 (@DOTA2) December 2, 2018
The SEA Open Qualifiers will presumably continue tomorrow before the SEA regional qualifiers kicks off with WG.Unity taking on 4SGK in a BO3 matchup for the final spot in the Minor qualifiers.
On the other side of the bracket, Clutch Gamers started off the day against fellow Filipino team ArkAngel and secured a relatively easy 2-0 sweep to move on to the semifinals against Neon Esports who took down Sterling Global Dragons in a 2-1 thriller.
In what turned out to be three very close games, Clutch Gamers managed to clutch a berth in the SEA regional qualifiers with a 2-1 victory.
