One of the bigger announcements coming out of BlizzCon 2018 is the remastered version of Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos which will be called Warcraft 3: Reforged. The game is set to be released in 2019 and with the franchise having bred a whole generation of gamers, we can’t help but be excited.

Dota’s origins are so deeply rooted in Warcraft 3 that the game was a part of any old school Dota player’s childhood, and anyone who played Dota Allstars, remembers going into the Warcraft 3 extension, Frozen Throne to play the game. Features like the Map editor which inspired an entire genre of games starting with Dota 1 will also be back in Warcraft 3: Reforged.

The cinematic trailer which was released during BlizzCon looks really cool and clips of the demo which was available for attendees has also been released.

The game will also include the expansion, The Frozen Throne, and will include new models and modern graphics. However, it isn’t just a graphical update, Reforged will also have redone Voiceovers and cutscenes and a first glimpse at the one campaign that was released shows quite a few changes including a modified map. The mission is one of Warcraft 3’s most famous campaigns, The Culling.

Many of the older pro players and talent were ecstatic at the announcement, having played the original Warcraft 3 game before switching to Dota 2.
