After a relatively disappointing performance at the recently concluded Starladder ImbaTV Invitational – Season 5. Adam “343” Shah, who was brought in to the Fnatic squad, to further develop the team's cohesion and shot calling, announced that he won't be playing more with Fnatic.

Earlier this week, Fnatic decided to sub in Adam “343” Shah in place of Johan "PieLieDie" Åström for the StarLadder ImbaTV Invitational Season 5 minor. The decision to play a DPC event with a non-registered player came with its own penalty, which meant that Fnatic would be eligible to earn only 75% of the DPC points from the event.

Fnatic did, in fact, go on to finish 3rd-4th after a 2-1 defeat to Optic Gaming, the eventual champions. They managed to secure 66 DPC points as a result. They (particularly Jacky "EternaLEnVy" Mao and Adam "343" Shah) received a fair amount of flame from the community, who cited the substitution being the primary reason for their poor performance.

Soon after, Adam tweeted "Won't be playing anymore, don't worry guys!!", ending suspicions that PieLieDie had been kicked from the team. He also thanked the community and fellow pro players for their support. He added that he might be returning to active play next year.
