While you can experiment and see what works for you, a lot of players prefer a simple dot crosshair. Here's how you can get the dot crosshair in CS2 that everyone loves to use!

How to Get The Dot Crosshair in CS2 Using Console Commands

  1. Open the developer console by pressing the tilde (~) key.

  2. Type in the following commands and press Enter after each one:

  • cl_crosshairstyle "2" (Sets the crosshair style to a dot)

  • cl_crosshaircolor "1" (Sets the color to green, you can change the value to other colors)

  • cl_crosshairsize "0" (Makes the lines of the crosshair disappear)

  • cl_crosshairgap "-8.5" (Adjusts the gap between the center and the lines, which isn't applicable for a dot)

  • You can adjust other settings like:

    • cl_crosshairalpha "255" (Sets the opacity of the crosshair)

    • cl_crosshairthickness "2" (Thickness of the center dot, if you prefer a thicker dot)

How to Get The Dot Crosshair in CS2 Using In-Game Settings

  1. Go to Settings (Escape menu).

  2. Navigate to "Game" and then "Crosshair".

  3. You can adjust the following settings:

    • Under "Center Dot," select "Yes".

    • Set "Length" and "Thickness" to "0" (or a very small value).

    • Adjust "Gap" to control the space around the center dot (optional).

  4. Play around with the color options to find your preference.

You can find many variations of dot crosshairs with specific console commands by searching online. Experiment with different settings to find the perfect dot size, color, and opacity for your aiming style.

Consider using a config file to save your preferred crosshair settings so you don't have to re-enter the commands every time you launch CS2.

Using the Config File:

CS2 stores game settings, including your crosshair configuration, in a text file called config.cfg. Here's how to save your crosshair using this method:

  1. Locate the config file: The location can vary depending on your CS2 installation. Here are some common places to check:

    • Steam Version:

      • Navigate to your Steam library.

      • Right-click on Counter-Strike 2 and select "Properties".

      • Go to the "Local Files" tab and click "Browse Local Files".

      • Look for the cstrike folder within the directory.

      • The config.cfg file should be located there.

    • Non-Steam Version:

      • The location might vary depending on the installation path. You can try searching for config.cfg on your entire drive.

  2. Open the file: Use a plain text editor like Notepad or Notepad++ to open the config.cfg file.

  3. Find the crosshair commands: Look for lines starting with cl_crosshair. These control various aspects of your crosshair, like style, size, color, and gap.

  4. Copy the commands: Select and copy all the cl_crosshair commands related to your preferred crosshair setup.

  5. Save the config file: Make sure you didn't accidentally change anything else in the file. Save the config.cfg file.

Using the In-Game "Share Crosshair" Feature:

This method allows you to copy and save your current crosshair settings as a code snippet:

  1. Open the Settings Menu: In-game, press the Escape key to access the menu.

  2. Navigate to "Game" and then "Crosshair".

  3. Look for the "Share or Import" section.

  4. Click on "Copy Crosshair Code". This will copy all your current crosshair settings to your clipboard.

Saving the Copied Code:

  • You can paste the copied code into a text file and save it for future reference.

  • Alternatively, consider saving it in a cloud storage service like Google Docs or Dropbox for easy access across devices.

How to Load Your Saved Crosshair:

Using Config File:

  • Paste the copied cl_crosshair commands you saved earlier into the config.cfg file.

  • Save the config.cfg file again.

  • Launch CS2, and your crosshair settings should be applied.

They allow you to customize how much of your weapon you see and where it's positioned on the screen. If you are looking for the best viewmodel settings in CS2, we have them right here along with a detailed explanation of what each setting does to your game.

Should You Change Viewmodel Settings in CS2?

Viewmodel settings control how your weapon appears on your screen. This includes two things:

  1. Field of View (FOV): This determines how much of the world you see around your weapon. A higher FOV lets you see more but can make your weapon appear smaller.

  2. Offsets: These settings fine-tune the position of your weapon on the screen. You can adjust it left/right, closer/further from the center, and up/down.

By adjusting these settings, you can customize how much of your weapon you see and where it's positioned on the screen. This can help you find a setup that feels comfortable and improves your gameplay.

Best Viewmodel Settings for Counter-Strike 2

There isn't a single "best" viewmodel setting in CS2 as preference plays a big role. However, there are popular configurations many players find comfortable. Here's a common setup to get you started:

Field of View (FOV):

  • viewmodel_fov 68 (default is 60)

This increases how much you see around your weapon, potentially giving you a wider view of the battlefield.

Offsets:

  • viewmodel_offset_x 2.5

  • viewmodel_offset_y 2.0

  • viewmodel_offset_z -2.0

These adjust the position of your weapon on the screen.

  • X: moves it left (negative values) or right (positive values).

  • Y: moves it closer (negative values) or further (positive values) from the center of the screen.

  • Z: moves it up (negative values) or down (positive values).

This configuration scoots the weapon slightly to the right and brings it closer to the center of the screen, keeping more focus on the overall view.

How to Use Viewmodel Settings in CS2

  1. Open the console in CS2. You can usually do this with the key (tilde).

  2. Type in the commands one by one, replacing the values (e.g., 68) if you prefer something different.

  3. Press Enter after each command.

Always Adjust Viewmodel Settings to Your Preference

These are starting points, feel free to experiment and adjust the values to find what works best for you. Play around with the settings in a practice match to see how they affect your gameplay.

The PGL Copenhagen Major 2024 Playoff Stage is just a few days away, scheduled to take place from 28th to 31st March 2024 and players have started locking in their predictions before the deadline.

Here are Pick'Em Predictions by professional Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) players, talents, and personalities for the Playoff Stage of PGL Copenhagen Major 2024 to help with last-minute suggestions and sort out any decision-making roadblocks.

Best PGL Copenhagen Major 2024 Playoff Stage Pick'Em Predictions

It is almost impossible to accurately predict all the picks, with only a handful of players getting everything correct in the Pick'Em Challenge. However, there are ways to get the best possible picks by taking suggestions and cues from various professional CS2 players, talents, and personalities.

Copenhagen Major 2024 Playoff Stage Bracket

Here are more than 15 different predictions to help users out with their own Pick'Em Predictions for the Playoff Stage of the CS2 Major.

Hope this is enough to help all the users make a better overall decision when selecting their respective picks for the second stage of the Pick'Em Challenge.

For those who are confused as to how the Pick'Em challenge works, here is a brief to get you up to speed:

  • The pre-requisite to playing the Pick'Em challenge is the purchase of the Copenhagen 2024 Viewer Pass which is available in two variants.

  • For the first two stages of the tournament, Opening Stage and Elimination Stage, players need to make a total of 10 predictions which include two picks for teams that will go 3-0, two picks for teams that will go 0-3, and six picks for teams that will go either 3-1 or 3-2.

  • To complete the Pick'Em Challenge, in the first two stages, players need to get at least five predictions right, automatically contributing towards the upgrade of the Copenhagen 2024 Coin.

  • For the final stage of the tournament, players need to fill out the complete bracket for Playoffs and try predicting the following,

Two correct predictions for the quarterfinals.

One correct prediction for the semifinals.

Winner prediction for the grand final.

This year the format of Pick'Em has undergone some drastic changes.

  • First of all, this is the very first time in Major history that Pick'Em will not require players to purchase a Viewer Pass. All players with Prime enabled will be able to lock their Pick'Em predictions but will not receive any coin upgrades and associated rewards.

  • Secondly, the risk factor has increased because earlier players used to play it safe by putting teams that have a higher chance of qualifying under the '3-1/3-2' bracket rather than the riskier '3-0' bracket. This is because irrespective of the score with which a team qualified to the next stage, it was counted as a correct prediction.

This rule has changed now and players will have to be more cautious in their overall approach. Say 'Team A' was put under the '3-0' bracket but it qualified with a '3-1' or '3-2' score, then the prediction will not be counted as a success.

This covers all information for the Pick'Em Challenge. Now you can go ahead and claim that diamond event coin confidently without any further doubts and get up to three free Souvenir Tokens along the way as well.

The Tournament Organizer, Skyesports, was unable to get the necessary approvals to host the LAN event and the main event will now be played in the online format from 8th to 14th April 2024.

Skyesports Masters 2024 Main Event LAN canceled detailed

Skyesports released a statement on its official X handle and revealed that the Skyesports Masters 2024 Main Event LAN has been canceled and wrote, “After careful consideration and exploring all possible alternatives, we have reached the extremely tough decision to cancel the LAN component of the Skyesports Masters 2024 Main Event.

With the Indian General Elections set to begin in April, it has proved extremely challenging to obtain the necessary approvals for hosting a large-scale on-ground event. Thus, while we were really looking forward to welcoming all teams to Mumbai, India for a grand show, we regretfully announce the transition of the main event to an online format."

"Although the transition to an online event presents its challenges, the Skyesports Masters Main Event will continue as planned, from 8th to 14th April, as 8 teams battle it out in the $350,000 USD tournament. Our talented production team remains dedicated to delivering a top-notch and seamless live show for fans around the world."

While we understand the disappointment this decision may bring, it was a necessary step to ensure that we are able to bring the anticipated Counter-Strike 2 esports action live from the Skyesports Masters.”

Team Liquid, one of the prominent teams in the Counter Strike title also released a statement and revealed that it pulled out from the Skyesports Master 2024 event due to constant change in scheduling. The PGL Copenhagen Major 2024 Elimination Stage is just a few days away, scheduled to take place from 21st to 24th March 2024 and players have started locking in their predictions before the deadline.

Here are Pick'Em Predictions by professional CS:GO players, talents, and personalities for the Elimination Stage of PGL Copenhagen Major 2024 to help with last-minute suggestions and sort out any decision-making roadblocks.

Best PGL Copenhagen Major 2024 Elimination Stage Pick'Em Predictions

It is almost impossible to accurately predict all the picks, with only a handful of players getting everything correct in the Pick'Em Challenge. However, there are ways to get the best possible picks by taking suggestions and cues from various professional CS:GO players, talents, and personalities.

PGL Copenhagen Major 2024: Elimination Stage Pick'Em Predictions

Here are more than 15 different predictions to help users out with their own Pick'Em Predictions for the Elimination Stage of the CS2 Major.

Hope this is enough to help all the users make a better overall decision when selecting their respective picks for the second stage of the Pick'Em Challenge.

For those who are confused as to how the Pick'Em challenge works, here is a brief to get you up to speed:

  • The pre-requisite to playing the Pick'Em challenge is the purchase of Copenhagen 2024 Viewer Pass which is available in two variants.

  • For the first two stages of the tournament, Opening Stage and Elimination Stage, players need to make a total of 10 predictions which include two picks for teams that will go 3-0, two picks for teams that will go 0-3, and six picks for teams that will go either 3-1 or 3-2.

  • To complete the Pick'Em Challenge, in the first two stages, players need to get at least five predictions right, automatically contributing towards the upgradation of Copenhagen 2024 Coin.

The major, a cornerstone event in the competitive CS2 scene, is set to light up the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark, from March 17th to the 31st, drawing teams from across the globe to compete for a staggering $1,250,000 USD prize pool.

In a recent set of statements to Berlingske, a Danish national daily newspaper, Jakob shared that he believes Russian athletes should not be allowed to participate in international esports tournaments. He also urged PGL, organizers of the CS2 Major, to exclude Russians from participation.

Denmark's Minister of Culture Calls for Exlusion of Russian Players From PGL Copenhagen Major 2024

Engel-Schmidt's contention with the inclusion of Russian competitors in international esports tournaments was made explicitly clear in a series of statements to Berlingske, a prominent Danish national daily. The Minister's standpoint is rooted in the ongoing geopolitical tensions, as he highlighted in a statement to Berlingske, "As long as Russia continues its illegal war in Ukraine, I do not believe that Russian athletes should be allowed to participate in international sports. Of course, this also applies to e-sports."

The call for action doesn't just stop with the athletes; Engel-Schmidt has also put pressure on PGL, the Romanian organization behind the CS2 Major, urging them to reconsider Russian participation in the event. This plea extends to the Royal Arena, encouraging a more critical stance on the events they host amidst these contentious times.

The spotlight is now on the contingent of 16 players and 3 coaches from Russia that are competing in the Major. High-profile names such as Leonid "chopper" Vishnyakov, Boris "magixx" Vorobyev, and Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov are among those who might face repercussions should PGL or the Royal Arena yield to governmental pressures.

Here's the full list of players and coaches that are now under the radar.

  1. Leonid "chopper" Vishnyakov

  2. Boris "magixx" Vorobyev

  3. Danil "donk" Kryshkovets

  4. Dmitriy "sh1ro" Sokolov

  5. Sergey "hally" Shavayev | Coach

  6. Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov

  7. Dzhami "Jame" Ali

  8. Evgeniy "FL1T" Lebedev

  9. Petr "fame" Bolyshev

  10. David "n0rb3r7" Daniyelyan

  11. Nikolay "mir" Bityukov

  12. Sergey "Ax1Le" Rykhtorov

  13. Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhaylov

  14. Konstantin "groove" Pikiner | Coach

  15. Aleksandr "TRAVIS" Timkiv

  16. Igor "Forester" Bezotecheskiy

  17. Aleksey "NickelBack" Trofimov

  18. Vladislav "Krad" Kravchenko

  19. Svyatoslav "svyat" Dovbakh | Coach

These are the people and organizations who might be affected in case any action is initiated by either PGL or Royal Arena, under pressure by the Danish Government.

There are two more players from Russia who have defined themselves as non-representing Russian professionals in the competitive CS2 scene: Denis "electroNic" Sharipov and Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy.

The discourse around the participation of Russian players in international competitions isn't new to Engel-Schmidt. In February 2023, he voiced a similar opposition to Russian athletes competing in the Paris Olympics, even under a neutral flag, reinforcing a stance that Russia should be barred from all international sports as long as their military actions in Ukraine persist.

At the moment, no official statement on the matter has been made by PGL or Royal Arena, which will host the last leg of PGL Copenhagen Major 2024 from 28th to 31st March.

The iconic first person shooter was sunset in favor of Counter-Strike 2 (CS2). While CS2 retains all of the elements of CS:GO, a lot of players want to the old-school experience CS:GO offers and if you are one of them, here's what you need to do.

Access CS:GO via CS 1.6's Legacy Version on Steam

You can access a Legacy Version of CSGO through Counter-Strike 1.6 (CS 1.6) on Steam. Here's a simplified breakdown:

  1. Open Steam and go to your Library.

  2. Right-click on CS 1.6 and select "Properties."

  3. Click on the "Betas" tab.

  4. Under "Beta participation," choose "csgo_legacy."

  5. Steam will download the necessary files.

Now, when you launch CS 1.6, you'll have the option to play CSGO's Legacy Version.

You can buy the game here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/10/CounterStrike/

During sales, the game typically costs just a dollar in most regions so you can grab it for a very low price in case you don't own it already.

How to Play CS:GO Online in 2024

Even though official matchmaking might be unavailable, community servers are still up and running. These servers offer alternative game modes and experiences. You can find community servers by searching for them in the server browser within CSGO (Legacy Version).

Keep in mind that the Legacy Version might have limitations compared to the official version of CSGO. Also, the number of players on community servers might be lower than in official matchmaking.

Should You Play CS:GO or CS2?

CS2 features better networking, smoke mechanics and potentially even customization changes that have not been added to the game yet. There is no real reason to play CS:GO aside nostalgia. Community-made servers will continue to exist for years to come knowing how popular CS:GO was over the past decade.

As always the Copenhagen 2024 Viewer Pass consists of features like Pick'Em Challenge, Souvenir Tokens, Event Coin, and the coveted Souvenir Packages whose content continues to be shrouded in mystery.

Players can purchase the upgraded Viewer Pass which costs $18 or ₹1430 to receive three Souvenir Tokens right at the beginning. If not, they can go for the cheaper variant costing $10 or ₹795, but then miss out on the initial set of Souvenir Tokens.

Either way, there is an alternate method to get up to three Souvenir Tokens for free by putting in some grind. These can then be traded for Souvenir Packages to obtain map-specific unique weapons with player or team stickers on top of them.

PGL Copenhagen Major 2024: Complete Details About Souvenir Tokens and Souvenir Packages in CS2

Most players are confused about how to get their hands on more Souvenir Tokens and then use them to claim Souvenir Packages which can help them bag some interesting skins adorned with high-tier stickers.

Here is how you can obtain Souvenir Tokens, free and paid, while also putting them to use by claiming Souvenir Packages during PGL Copenhagen Major 2024.

How to Get Souvenir Tokens From Copenhagen 2024 Viewer Pass in CS2?

How to Claim Souvenir Packages in CS2 During PGL Copenhagen Major 2024?

Souvenir Packages are nothing but Major exclusive cosmetic collections that contain limited-edition Souvenir quality weapon skins. Once obtained, the Souvenir Packages do not require any key to open them.

To claim a Souvenir Package a user must have a Souvenir Token. A user can receive a maximum of one package in exchange for one token. To execute this, the user needs to follow the below mentioned steps,

  1. The user first needs to select any match from PGL Copenhagen Major 2024.

  2. Once a match has been selected by the user, they will receive a random map-specific unique weapon skin with a gold team or player sticker on it. Details related to the map or teams will be directly taken from the match selected.

Earlier, weapon skins obtained via Souvenir Packages contained four stickers, the tournament sticker, stickers of the two competing teams, and the player signature sticker of the round MVP.

However, during PGL Stockholm Major 2021, rules around player-autographed stickers changed, resulting in weapon skins now containing only three stickers. In 2022, Valve decided that Souvenirs would feature gold stickers of the teams and players.

These Souvenir Packages can only be claimed on matches played as part of the PGL Copenhagen Major 2024. Players will have limited time to make a decision and consume them because after the deadline all Souvenir Tokens and Souvenir Packages will become void.

The PGL Copenhagen Major 2024 Opening Stage is just a few days away, scheduled to take place from 17th to 20th March 2024 and players have started locking in their predictions before the deadline.

Here are Pick'Em Predictions by professional CS:GO players, talents, and personalities for the Opening Stage of PGL Copenhagen Major 2024 to help with last-minute suggestions and sort out any decision-making roadblocks.

Best PGL Copenhagen Major 2024 Opening Stage Pick'Em Predictions

It is almost impossible to accurately predict all the picks, with only a handful of players getting everything correct in the Pick'Em Challenge. However, there are ways to get the best possible picks by taking suggestions and cues from various professional CS:GO players, talents, and personalities.

PGL Copenhagen Major 2024 Opening Stage Pick'Em Predictions

Here are more than 15 different predictions to help users out with their own Pick'Em Predictions for the Opening Stage of the CS2 Major.

Hope this is enough to help all the users make a better overall decision when selecting their respective picks for the first stage of the Pick'Em Challenge.

Pick'Em Challenge Guide for PGL Copenhagen Major 2024

Every Counter Strike Major Viewer Pass consists of something known as Pick'Em Challenge where users predict and pick teams that they think either have the potential to move ahead in the tournament or get eliminated.

This is the first time that Valve is providing players a chance to participate in Pick'Em without purchasing a Viewer Pass. All players with Prime status can make their predictions for free but they will not earn any rewards for it.

Those who are fully invested and want to experience everything will need to purchase the Copenhagen 2024 Viewer Pass.

  • Copenhagen 2024 Viewer Pass [Regular] - $10 | ₹795

  • Copenhagen 2024 Viewer Pass [3 Souvenir Tokens] - $18 | ₹1430

Upon activating the Viewer Pass, players will receive an upgradable Bronze Coin, a set of challenges to complete, Steam.tv chat flairs, and unlimited graffiti to use in-game for the duration of this tournament.

How to play Pick'Em in CS2?

The Pick'Em Challenge takes place in three parts according to the different stages of the tournament - Opening Stage, Elimination Stage, and Playoffs.

It is definitely not rocket science but predicting the teams accurately to complete the Pick'Em Challenge is no joke either. It requires a good understanding of all the competing teams and players, while a decision needs to be made based on both data and factual instinct.

Among the three stages, the first two are straightforward with users selecting 10 teams from a pool of 16 teams.

  • Two teams that could qualify with a clean 3-0 scoreline

  • Two teams that could get eliminated with a 0-3 scoreline

  • Six teams that could qualify with either 3-1 or 3-2 scorelines

PGL Copenhagen Major 2024: Pick'Em

As for the last stage, users need to create the entire single-elimination bracket consisting of eight teams. Here, they need to predict the winners of the quarterfinals stage, setup the semifinal faceoff, and then do the same for the grand finals as well.

How to Upgrade Copenhagen 2024 Coin?

Well, to answer it simply, players need to complete all the Pick'Em Challenges to upgrade their Bronze Coin to Diamond Coin.

In total there are nine tasks or challenges associated with Pick'Em, some of them are straightforward and mainly act as pre-requisites for the more difficult ones.

  1. Activate your Copenhagen 2024 Coin before the tournament ends.

  2. Place all 10 Pick’Em predictions for the Opening Stage before it begins.

  3. Get five correct Pick’Em predictions for the Opening Stage.

  4. Place all 10 Pick’Em predictions for the Elimination Stage before it begins.

  5. Get five correct Pick’Em predictions for the Elimination Stage.

  6. Place all seven Pick’Em predictions for the Playoffs before it begins.

  7. Place two correct Pick’Em predictions for the quarterfinals.

  8. Place one correct Pick’Em prediction for the semifinals.

  9. Make a correct Pick’Em prediction for the grand final.

All players will start with a Bronze Coin upon activating the Copenhagen 2024 Viewer Pass and the number of completed Pick'Em Challenges will determine how far this coin will upgrade.

  • Bronze Coin: Activate Viewer Pass

  • Silver Coin: Complete Three Challenges

  • Gold Coin: Complete Six Challenges

  • Diamon Coin: Complete Nine Challenges

PGL Copenhagen Major 2024: Viewer Pass and Coin

All Rewards for Completing Pick'Em Challenge

The main goal behind completing the Pick'Em Challenge is to receive the rewards associated with it. For every three tasks completed, the Event Coin will automatically upgrade for the user, this way they can take it from Bronze to Diamond.

Additionally, with each coin upgrade the user will also get a free Souvenir Token. A maximum of three can be obtained for free by completing all the challenges and several more can be purchased either as part of the Viewer Pass or even individually for the duration of this tournament.

  • Souvenir Token Price: $3 | ₹237

Souvenir Tokens are further traded for Souvenir Packages which contain unique CS2 weapons skins and stickers.

What Are Souvenir Tokens and How Are They Used in CS2?

Souvenir Tokens can be both bought and earned for free by completing Pick'Em Challenges. These can be redeemed in-game for a Souvenir Package from any match of your choice that are a part of the PGL Copenhagen Major 2024.

These generally contain unique map-specific CS2 weapon skins that are adorned with stickers of the teams that played in the selected match.

Players can use it on the map of their choice, the map on which their favorite team is playing, or a combination of both.

It is almost impossible to accurately predict all the picks, with only a handful of players getting everything correct in the Pick'Em Challenge. However, there are ways to get the best possible picks in place by taking suggestions and cues from various CS2 players, talents, and personalities.

The decision comes within the first quarter of 2024 and seems to have been made due to major changes implemented by Valve on how tournament organizers must operate from next year onwards.

In August 2023, Valve took some major steps towards leveling the competitive playing field for all teams by introducing three requirements that would essentially end leagues and tournaments with partnered teams.

This means that the 2025 circuit will be far more open with teams either being invited based on Valve's ranking system or through open qualifiers, effectively changing how most CS2 tournaments currently function.

ESL and BLAST: Complete CS2 Tournament Calendar for 2025

In 2023, Valve took a huge step that is about to severely impact how CS2 tournaments are organized from next year onwards.

The current partnered league and direct invite system will end, paving the path for more qualifier-based events and a centralized ranking system under Valve's control which will be used to invite teams if required.

ESL and BLAST have taken these requirements under consideration to release their tournament dates for 2025 more than 10 months in advance.

BLAST has announced a total of six tournaments for 2025 which include the seasonal opener that has become a sort of norm over the last few years.

BLAST CS2 Tournament Dates 2025

  4. 4th to 17th August 2025 | 14 Days

  5. 25th August to 7th September 2025 | 14 Days

  6. 10th to 16th November 2025 | 7 Days

BLAST will take up 70 days of the year for their scheduled tournaments and follow an updated variant of their current seasonal split.

ESL has announced a total of eight tournaments for 2025 which will take up the most number of days from the total available for the entire competitive calendar.

ESL CS2 Tournament Dates 2025

  5. 23rd July to 3rd August 2025 | 12 Days

  6. 20th to 24th August 2025 | 5 Days

  7. 23rd September to 12th October 2025 | 20 Days

  8. 3rd to 9th November 2025 | 7 Days

ESL will take 90 days of the year for their scheduled tournaments and follow an updated variant of their current seasonal split.

ESL CS2 Tournament Dates 2025

Major CS2 Tournament Dates 2025

Apart from this, dates for the two Majors have also been revealed which will take place during the middle and towards the end of 2025.

  1. 9th to 22nd June 2025 - First Major | 14 Days

  2. 1st to 14th December 2025 - Second Major | 14 Days

The two Majors will take 28 days of the year but the organizers will be shortlisted and made public at a later point in time.

BLAST and ESL will together run for a total of 160 days and if the Majors are also included then all CS2 tournaments listed above will comprise of 188 days, leaving almost no space for other third-party tournaments to run without facing any sort of scheduling conflict.

More tournament details will be revealed in the due course of time as we reach closer to the end of 2024 like tournament names, how they will run, format, prize pool, and other details.

BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024: Format

This tournament probably has the most straight forward format across all tier-one Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournaments that are a part of the 2024 circuit.

  • The 16 teams have been matched up against each other in a single-elimination bracket.

  • Every match will be a best-of-three series and the losing teams will get eliminated from the tournament.

  • Three matches will take place on each day of the tournament except for the last day when both the semifinal matches will occur.

  • The last two teams that remain standing at the end will attain the two slots for BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2024.

BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024: Prize Pool

The tournament features a total prize pool of $135,000 USD which will be split between all 16 competing teams. The amount of prize money that a team receives will depend on its overall placement in the tournament.

BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024: Livestream

The team owned and founded by popular Argentine footballer, Sergio Aguero, had onboarded one of the most famous sportspersons in the world, Lionel Messi, as a partner of KRU Esports in November 2023 with plans of entering CS2 in 2024.

Four months later, KRU Esports has successfully signed an Argentine roster to enter the CS2 competitive scene and further looks to create an academy team soon to fulfill all their goals.

KRU Esports Takes First Steps Into CS2 With Argentine Lineup

While bringing Lionel Messi in as a partner last year, Sergio Aguero had said that plans were being discussed to create a CS2 Academy where the best players from Argentina would play. KRU Esports would train them and provide all the necessary tools to grow and succeed.

KRU Esports might not have established an Academy yet but it has signed its main CS2 team which consists of players from Argentina, marking their presence in the scene while also supporting talent from their home country.

KRU Esports has signed members of a team that used to compete as a squad under the name PUBG Aim having participated in qualifiers of multiple CS2 tournaments like PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 SA RMR Open Qualifier 2, IEM Chengdu 2024 South America Open Qualifier 1, and IEM Dallas 2024 South America Open Qualifier 1.

  • Eduardo "laser" Chshekin

The organization had reportedly tried to enter the CS2 scene before by attempting to sign the former lineup of a Brazilian team called Paqueta in September 2023. Unfortunately, the deal fell through as the lineup in discussion opted to sign with Red Canids, an esports organization from Brazil.

With all that in the past and a new team under its wings, KRU Esports would love to replicate the success that it enjoyed competing in Valorant, swiftly becoming one of the best teams to emerge from Latin America.

Skyesports Masters 2024: Liquid, NIP, BIG, ENCE Revealed as First Four International Invites

Skyesports Masters was established last year consisting of teams from India only. It consisted of a regular season followed by a LAN final which took place at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru, India.

Gods Reign was crowned the champion in front of a live audience and the team will try to qualify for the main event this time as well to defend its crown.

Team Liquid is one of the most popular esports teams in the world and its revamped CS2 roster has done well to qualify for multiple international tournaments till now in 2024.

NIP has had a terrible start in 2024 and currently has only two players as a part of its active lineup. The rest of the players were benched following their unsuccessful attempt at qualifying for the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024.

BIG is an esports organization from Germany with quite a history and has been competing in Counter-Strike for eight years now. The team has had a rough start in 2024 and this tournament may help turn around its fortune.

ENCE seems to be content with the performances it has delivered till now but a win would definitely be better. The team is in high spirits after having qualified for PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 and will be stepping in with the same energy.

Skyesports Masters 2024: International Invites

Skyesports Masters 2024 will be running from 8th to 14th April, which unfortunately coincides with IEM Chengdu 2024. On the bright side, it enabled the organizers to invite those international teams that missed out on the opportunity to compete in the Chinese tournament, a win-win for everyone.

Four more teams will join the ones already invited, including two more direct invites and one team each from European and Indian qualifiers.

  1. BIG

According to them, having only male characters available for free discourages women from picking up Counter-Strike 2 and playing the game.

The letter was penned by Astralis' player Josefine "Josefine" Jensen and signed by herself and her four teammates. The letter also explained that it was a follow-up to a message they had sent Valve privately last month on 24th January.

Women CS2 Pros Write Letter To Valve, Seek Addition of Free Female Characters

In the letter, Josefine and her teammates said that they love the game and acknowledged how it is a part of their lives now. The pros also stated that they shared the passion for Counter-Strike with millions of other gamers worldwide and that they love being a part of the global community.

However, the letter said, "Unfortunately, we currently feel we are only guests at the party. Using a female agent skin costs extra, while default skins are all male. We don't know why it is so, but we know that it strikes us as being both unfair and a bit unwelcoming."

The Astralis players also opined that it felt that in some way it supports sexism that they encounter as female players. They argued that there should be no difference between agents and that there should be as many free female agents as free male agents.

"We believe more women would start playing the game if there were default free female agents, and at least those of us playing now would feel more welcome," they believed.

Concluding the letter, they asked Valve to take the step towards diversity and inclusivity together with them, and by first freeing the female agents in Counter-Strike 2.

The pros who signed the letter are as follows:

  • Aurora "Aurora" Lyngdal

  • Josefine "Josefine" Jensen

  • Marie "Marie" Toft

  • Anja "Anja" Soelberg

  • Isabella "Ismo" Ferslev

The response for this open letter by the Astralis women Counter-Strike 2 team has been a mixed bag. Under the tweet, Counter-Strike streamer Dona said, "I couldn’t care less about female default skins. Valve should focus on improving the game, fix their subtick issue alongside making a proper anti cheat. THIS would attract more new players."

Another similar comment said, "I mean, why not, but let's not pretend like adding default female agents is going to bring in players. Optimizing the game and fixing the cheating problem is how you bring in more players, I have never heard anyone say 'I dont play CS because there's no default female agents'"

Meanwhile, Garrity Gaming CS2 player xDiorCS tweeted, "Literally nothing bad can come out of this idea. Like why not?"

One Twitter user also called out people who were disagreeing with the open letter. They wrote, "i see no issue with this suggestion. a lot of sad people in the replies, y'all should get therapy or something."

The competition is tough with only 24 slots up for grabs which means that some top-tier teams could miss out on the opportunity to compete in the first Major of the year.

In total, the tournament comprises 16 participants from Europe, five from North and South America, and two from Asia-Pacific, which automatically raises the bar for all regional qualifiers.

Here are all the top Counter-Stike 2 (CS2) teams that have missed out on the opportunity to qualify for PGL Copenhagen Major 2024.

PGL Copenhagen Major 2024: All Top CS2 Teams That Failed to Qualify

Not a single team will be handed a direct invite to PGL Copenhagen Major 2024, making it necessary to qualify for the world championship through one of the five RMR (Regional Major Ranking) qualifiers.

  • European RMR A | 8 Slots

  • European RMR B | 8 Slots

  • European RMR Decider | 1 Slot

  • American RMR | 5 Slots

  • Asia-Pacific RMR | 2 Slots

This raises the level of competition to a whole new level, so eventually a few top teams are bound to miss out on the opportunity of flying out to Denmark and fighting for the championship.

European RMR A

The first regional qualifier for Europe witnessed top-notch action against some of the best CS2 teams. Still, some promising competitors missed out on the opportunity to qualify for the main tournament.

Fnatic | 9th-11th Finish

One of the biggest esports organizations in the world, Fnatic enjoys a storied history in Counter-Strike but was not able to live up to its name and reputation during the European qualifier.

Fnatic registered two wins against BetBoom Team and AMKAL Esports, along with three losses against Virtus.pro, KOI, and SAW. This resulted in it getting a spot in the final decider where it failed to win and lost out on an opportunity to compete in Copenhagen.

Ninjas in Pyjamas | 15th-16th Finish

Counted amongst the most legendary esports organizations, especially when it comes to Counter-Strike where it enjoys a very rich and reputed history, Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP), had a very disappointing run in the qualifier.

NIP lost three consecutive matches against Eternal Fire, AMKAL ESPORTS, and SAW, which resulted in an early exit for the Swedish organization.

Team Falcons | 12th-14th Finish

One of the stronger teams coming into the 2024 season, Team Falcons enjoyed a great run at the recently concluded IEM Katowice 2024, which only added to its shocking exit from the qualifier.

Falcons started on a positive note by registering a win against 3DMAX but was rocked by three consecutive defeats against FaZe Clan, Eternal Fire, and AMKAL ESPORTS, resulting in its elimination, leaving the community surprised.

European RMR B

The second regional qualifier for Europe witnessed plenty of high-octane action as some of the best CS2 teams took on each other. As the dust settled, a few top competitors were left behind, unable to qualify for the main tournament.

Astralis | 9th-11th Finish

The most successful and consistent Counter-Strike team in recent times, Astralis has certainly fallen from grace and it continues to struggle, unable to make its way through to the main tournament.

Astralis managed to win against Nexus Gaming and Monte but ended up losing to Team Spirit, Heroic, and ENCE.

Despite the results, the team was granted another opportunity to make it through by competing in the decider bracket. Unfortunately, this was not enough as it bowed out in the first match itself and was eliminated from the qualifiers.

OG | 12th-14th Finish

One of the top esports organizations in the world, OG, was unable to qualify for the main tournament following its dismal performance during the European qualifier.

OG has been out of form for quite sometime now and its recent showing followed that trend as it lost to Apeks, ECSTATIC, and GamerLegion, on its way out of the tournament.

Monte | 12th-14th Finish

The esports organization from Ukraine has consistently climbed the ranks in recent years to position itself as a worthy competitor in competitive Counter-Strike.

Hopes were high from the team to make it to the main stage but unfortunately a trio of loses against ECSTATIC, Apeks, and Astralis, cut short its journey of moving past the regional qualifier.

Yes, it will be disappointing to miss out on some of the top teams and players, but then again that is part and parcel of competitive Counter-Strike.

Hopefully, those who miss out on this Major will be able to make up for it by qualifying for the next one which is set to take place in Shanghai, China later this year.

S1mple All Set to Make His CS2 Debut With Saudi Arabian Org Team Falconshttps://afkgaming.com/csgo/news/s1mple-all-set-to-make-his-cs2-debut-with-saudi-arabian-org-team-falconshttps://afkgaming.com/csgo/news/s1mple-all-set-to-make-his-cs2-debut-with-saudi-arabian-org-team-falcons#comments63f4aee5-c28c-4955-af44-0a0232db66dbTue, 20 Feb 2024 14:14:14 +05302024-02-20T14:14:14.617+05:30Dhruv Bhatnagar/api/author/1828985Counter-Strike 2,Counter-Strike,CS2,S1mple CS2 Debut,S1mple Team Falcons Debut,BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown 2024NewsThere’s no doubt that s1mple is undoubtedly the goat of Counter-Strike. However, since CS2’s launch into the pro scene, the legendary player has been out of the stage, announcing a break shortly after IEM Sydney 2023. However, in a surprising move, Oleksandr Olehovych 's1mple' Kostyljev will be joining the Saudi Arabian organization Team Falcons on loan to resume playing his career.

S1mple Joins Team Falcons For His Return to Competitive Counter-Strike

S1mple is considered one of the best Counter-Strike players ever. The Ukrainian AWPer has completely dominated the competitive landscape for many years and is known for being the star player of NAVI. He has spent more than seven years with the Ukrainian organization at this point.

On 19th February 2024, Team Falcons announced that Mohammad "BOROS" Malhas would be benched after the team's defeat at Copenhagen Major RMR Qualifiers, with a loaned player being teased in the announcement. As it turned out, the organization got a simple loan from NAVI for a month.

However, this is not a permanent switch for the Ukrainian player, as he would be playing for the Team Falcons for just one tournament, the BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown 2024. With NAVI currently settled with w0nderful on their team for the foreseeable future, it’s not that difficult to imagine a world where this move might become permanent if it works out for the Falcons, who will obviously want to bounce back after their recent failures. This exciting move to Team Falcons could prove to be a missing piece that motivates s1mple to mark a full debut on the competitive scene.

The benching of Mohammad “BOROS” Malhas will make it quite interesting where s1mple fits in the team’s lineup. As Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia is the main AWPer for the team, it might give s1mple a chance to play with a role that players have been talking about for a while now.

S1mple will debut with The Falcons at BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown on 6th March 2024. The team is looking to grab one of the spots in the Spring Final. There are some notable squads in the competition, such as Cloud9, Team Liquid, Complexity, and Ninjas in Pyjamas.

The action-packed tournament took place from 8th to 11th February 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia featuring a total prize pool of $50,000 USD and six teams, three each from India and Pakistan.

Marcos Gaming had a great outing, dominating all the teams it faced except for True Rippers, which resulted in a fantastic grand final that doubled up as a satisfying revenge match.

BLAST The Draft Season 1: Marcos Gaming From India Crowned as Champion

Three teams each from Pakistan and India won their respective regional qualifiers to compete in the main stage of BLAST The Draft Season 1 which took place offline in Singapore.

Six legendary players from Counter-Strike joined each of the qualified teams, not only as a mentor and coach, but also as a part of their lineup, functioning as their fifth player.

  1. Adam "friberg" Friberg | Pak Boyz

  2. Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovacs | Gods Reign

  3. Richard "shox" Papillon | Marcos Gaming

  4. Olof "olofmeister" Gustafsson | WahWah

  5. Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund | Come Mid

  6. Kenny "kennyS" Schrub | True Rippers

BLAST The Draft Season 1 kicked off with a double-elimination bracket with four teams starting from the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals, Gods Reign, WahWah, Pak Boyz, and Marcos Gaming, while the remaining two teams directly started from the Upper Bracket Semifinals, True Rippers and Come Mid.

Marcos Gaming defeated two Pakistani teams, Pak Boyz and Come Mid, with clean scorelines to reach the Upper Bracket Final where they took on True Rippers.

The two top Indian seeds put on quite the show as the best-of-three series went down to the wire. An overtime thriller was played on the third and final map, Inferno, but Marcos Gaming lost the game and dropped down to the lower bracket.

They fought back from this position to whitewash Pak Boyz for the second time and made their way to the grand final where they faced True Rippers once again.

The best-of-five finals did not disappoint and lived up to all the hype, going all the way down to the fifth and final map. Marcos Gaming won the first two games on Vertigo and Ancient to take the upper hand, but ended up losing the next two which resulted in the series getting levelled at 2-2.

Everyone was looking forward to a banger of a finish on Overpass. Unfortunately, it was a one-sided runaway performance by Marcos who ended up winning the series and with it the tournament as well.

The team from India was crowned as the champion of BLAST The Draft Season 1 and ended up walking away with $20,000 USD in prize money.

Marcos Gaming With Shox

The first season of this interesting tournament was brilliant and showed the potential that the South Asian region possesses in competitive CS2.

This time teams from India and Pakistan only were allowed to participate in the tournament, it will be interesting to see if more countries get a chance to compete in the next season of this event.

cadiaN Admits To Using Cheats in CS As a Kid, Says They Helped Him Get Goodhttps://afkgaming.com/csgo/news/cadian-admits-to-using-cheats-in-cs-as-a-kid-says-they-helped-him-get-goodhttps://afkgaming.com/csgo/news/cadian-admits-to-using-cheats-in-cs-as-a-kid-says-they-helped-him-get-good#commentscc6a86ac-6002-45af-892f-88da7f2f61e6Sat, 10 Feb 2024 17:03:15 +05302024-02-10T17:03:15.063+05:30Sadakshi Kalyan Ramun/api/author/1633627Cheating,Cadian,CS,CSGO cheatsNewsWhen it comes to video games, using cheats is usually frowned upon. Cheats basically involves players using different methods to create an advantage over others that's beyond the normal gameplay. This tends to make the game easier for the one that's deploying those cheats.

In a surprising turn of events, Counter-Strike (CS) pro Casper "cadiaN" Møller admitted on a recent stream with another CS content creator that he installed cheats for Counter-Strike as a 12-year-old kid. He even said that they helped him understand and get good at the game.

cadiaN Reveals That He Used Cheats For CS As a Kid

On a livestream with Mark "ohnePixel," cadiaN revealed that as a kid learning the ways of Counter-Strike, he actually used cheats that allowed him to see through the walls. The pro player admitted that using these cheats helped him understand the game.

Talking to ohnePixel, cadiaN said, "I was like 12 or something. I just downloaded it [cheat] and just played... It's a crazy story as well."

cadiaN asked his chat to not follow his footsteps and download the cheats. However he recalled what he did and explained what the cheats did. He added, "These cheats are kind of what made me good at the game. I’m not even capping, because I was kind of clueless… and when I installed these cheats I kind of understood all the timings of when could I meet with the opponent, how long could I run with the knife. If I get this kill, what reaction is the opponent going to do. All these things, bro, because I was full on wall hacking.

The pro player clarified that all this was before he started attending in-person events and LANs and before the start of his pro career.

There were mixed reactions to this admission made by cadiaN. One Twitter user commented, "If a 12 year old is cheating I can't be too too mad lol. It's when a fcking 30 year old uses cheats that im like ok dude you should know better by now."

However, another user said, "Give him the ban he has been over due for. No mercy on a gamer that cheats."

cadiaN is a well-known player in the Counter-Strike (CS) pro landscape. He has been playing professionally for over a decade now. Currently, he is a part of Team Liquid that competes in the North American region. cadiaN is also the in-game leader (IGL) of the squad.

CS2 Players Are Exploiting New Sticker Update to Write Slurs on Weaponshttps://afkgaming.com/csgo/news/cs2-players-are-exploiting-new-sticker-update-to-write-slurs-on-weaponshttps://afkgaming.com/csgo/news/cs2-players-are-exploiting-new-sticker-update-to-write-slurs-on-weapons#comments05bf52b2-1d83-423f-b0d3-db496dc6deabThu, 08 Feb 2024 15:49:51 +05302024-02-08T15:49:51.922+05:30Dhruv Bhatnagar/api/author/1828985Valve,Counter-Strike 2,CS2,Counter-Strike 2 New Update,Counter-Strike 2 Stickers Update,CS2 Update 2024,CS2 Sticker Combos,CS2 Sticker GGNewsWhile loved by many, Counter-Strike 2 did not receive any updates for some time. However, that has changed as a new CS2 update has just been released. The update features a mammoth of improvements, fixes, and content. However, the most significant change is the gun stickers. It’s a known fact that stickers are one of the best ways to customize your weapon skin in Counter-Strike. With the new update, the stickers can be placed anywhere on the gun.

However, some players have quickly found ways to make wild, funny, or offensive sticker crafts with new sticker placement options.

CS2 Community Exploits the New Sticker Update By Creating Bizarre Crafts

After a drought of updates in recent months, Valve returned to CS2 on 6th February with a huge update that added tons of new content to the game and some fixes to the general gameplay. Arguably, one of the best additions with the brand-new update is the custom sticker placements and a fifth sticker slot on weapons. Since the launch of CSGO, players have only had access to four sticker slots in predetermined places, but they can now move stickers anywhere they like.

Some community players quickly started exploiting the new sticker update to create offensive words or drawings with the sticker placement. Although it was already possible to spell out three- or four-letter offensive words with a few sticker combos, the new update has made it easier.

This has led some stickers, such as ‘GG’, to shoot up in price on the Steam Market. The obvious reason for this rise in price is players using the sticker to spell out offensive words.

Some in the community have reacted negatively and considered how some players could use an update and turn it into a harmful thing. Valve did not account for this problematic scenario, and many are left wondering when a permanent fix will be released.

However, this was a predictable outcome as well because we have the same happening in other titles, such as Call of Duty, whenever players are allowed this level of customization. Whether Valve will ban players for creating offensive sticker crafts is still unknown. However, players should refrain from trying out these things.

The MongolZ After Winning ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2023: "We are the best team in Asia”https://afkgaming.com/csgo/originals/the-mongolz-after-winning-zowie-extremesland-2023-we-are-the-best-team-in-asiahttps://afkgaming.com/csgo/originals/the-mongolz-after-winning-zowie-extremesland-2023-we-are-the-best-team-in-asia#comments1ad72aa5-7244-459e-9791-ec15ae04bf66Fri, 02 Feb 2024 10:00:00 +05302024-02-02T10:00:00.000+05:30Aditya Singh Rawat/api/author/1568067eXTREMESLAND,ZOWIE,China,Interview,Gameplay,Counter-Strike 2,CS2,MongolZOriginalsThe MongolZ was one of the favorite teams going into ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2023 alongside other top teams like TYLOO and Lynn Vision Gaming. It was not the smoothest of journeys but the team fought hard and managed to lift the trophy at the Perfect World Esports Center in Shanghai, China.

It played four matches, dropped just one map, and faced an astonishing eight overtimes, five of them coming in a single match against TYLOO on the very first day of the tournament, resulting in a new record for the longest CS2 (Counter- Strike 2) match to take place on LAN.

After celebrating their win, the team sat down for an exclusive interview with AFK Gaming, talking about their journey and just having a good time discussing things about their past and future.

MongolZ had a great outing in ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2023 proving its weight in gold by defeating both TYLOO and Lynn Vision Gaming, two of its biggest challengers in Asia. The former did prove to be a tough hurdle but the latter could not hold its own against the Mongolian onslaught.

The 18-year-old talented rifler from Mongolia, Sodbayar "Techno4K" Munkhbold, speaking on behalf of the entire team, said, “ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2023 was a great tournament. It took place right before the APAC RMR (PGL Major Copenhagen 2024) and provided us with much-needed practice against some of the top teams from around Asia.”

Techno4K further pointed out that though their journey was smooth that group stage clash against TYLOO was a tough break for them, “In my opinion, the multiple overtime against TYLOO was our toughest match in the tournament.”

I mean, any team would be having a mental breakdown after playing a total of 54 rounds on Inferno, that too with the pressure of the match being a best-of-one and the winner directly qualifying for the playoffs.

“We were of course trying to win the match but there were some mistakes that ruined certain rounds and pushed the match into overtime, from there on we just kept playing for the win despite things being a little annoying. We were also getting tired with the repeated rounds,” said Techno4K.

One thing that stood out the most, even more than their impressive performance on LAN in front of a live audience, was the confidence with which they carried themselves within and outside the server, calm and composed, respecting their opponents but not reacting outwardly.

When asked if they considered themselves to be the best CS2 team from Asia, Techno4K without a second thought or stutter, gave an immediate response, “Yeah, of course, we are the best team in Asia.” This in itself is proof enough about the self-belief the players carry with them and automatically translates into the confident persona they so casually wear.

ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2023 was the first offline tournament for MongolZ this year but the team walked into this tournament with a lot of experience under its belt. They enjoyed a successful 2023 where they represented Asia and Mongol in multiple international tournaments including IEM Rio 2023, BLAST Paris Major 2023, IEM Cologne 2023, and DreamHack Atlanta 2023.

“The international LAN tournaments are a big thing with many top-tier teams in the mix. It was a good experience overall and provided us with a lot of practice. We learned quite a bit from their playstyle and even started to figure some of them out. Now, if we get enough time to study a team, we can beat any of them,” explained Techno4K, with a lot of commitment in his voice.

In addition to this, Techno4K expressed that it feels great to have transferred the momentum over to 2024 as well, evident by the team's qualification for PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 APAC (Asia Pacific) RMR (Regional Major Rankings) and ESL Pro League S19.

Online domination in qualifiers and now proving themselves on LAN by winning the ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2023, MongolZ seems to be doing a perfect job at covering all their bases.

Talking about their future and what they aim to achieve in 2024 going ahead, Techno4K says, “In 2024, we have set a goal for ourselves and it is simply to qualify for the playoffs stage of a Major, we want to be among the top eight. That’s it, this is what we want to achieve for now.”

The MongolZ: ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2023 Champions

There is not a shred of doubt that MongolZ is one of the best CS2 teams in Asia. They have a firm grip on the throne and the recent victory in front of a live audience has provided them with enough cushioning to stay on top until the action for APAC RMR begins towards the end of February 2024.

It will be the ultimate test for MongolZ with only the top two teams getting a chance to compete in PGL Copenhagen Major 2024.

Returning to LAN after two years, the tournament for the first time in eight years took place in front of a live audience and the experience was nothing short of fantastic. The turnout was excellent and the audience mainly supported the Chinese teams - TYLOO, Lynn Vision Gaming, and E9 Esports.

Most matches provided high-octane, top-tier CS2 action, especially on the last day which comprised of two semifinals followed by a grand final, eventually won by MongolZ.

The MongolZ Defeats Lynn Vision Gaming to Win ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2023

As many had predicted, two of the strongest teams at ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2023, MongolZ and LVG, managed to reach the grand finals of the tournament after giving their absolute best this weekend from 26th to 28th January.

Both teams reached the grand finals by placing first in their respective groups, living up to their status, and setting up an exciting finish to an already exhilarating event.

Lynn Vision Gaming with its experienced Chinese lineup delivered quick defeats to both NCTDK and NKT during the group stage, swooping the top spot in Group B with a +18 round difference.

Having secured a semifinal birth on the first day itself, LVG had no matches to play on the second day, getting an important off day to reset themselves mentally ahead of the playoffs.

On the third and final day, LVG took on the fan favorites, TYLOO, making quick work of them on Anubis and Nuke to snatch a dominating 2-0 victory. It all went down in a blitz with TYLOO managing to win only 11 rounds in total as LVG became the first team to claim the grand final slot.

  • Anubis | TYLOO (7) - LVG (13)

  • Nuke | TYLOO (4) - LVG (13)

The MongolZ with its complete Mongolian lineup was not perfect but they did not give up easily, making quick work of ACME in their first match followed by a record-breaking longest CS2 match on LAN against TYLOO which lasted 54 rounds in total.

Even MongolZ enjoyed a second-day break, having cemented a spot for themselves in the semifinals on the first day itself, resting up well before the Playoffs.

On the last day, MongolZ took on NKT in a thrilling series that went down to the wire, both teams winning their respective map picks, before a double overtime thriller sealed things for the Mongolian giants.

  • Mirage | The MongolZ (13) - NKT (2)

  • Nuke | The MongolZ (9) - NKT (13)

  • Ancient | The MongolZ (19) - NKT (17)

The grand finals was pretty straightforward with MongolZ winning consecutive maps to close the series but it sure had some moments.

Despite Ancient being a map picked by MongolZ, LVG was able to push things into overtime, but could not hold them back long enough resulting in a 16-14 win for the Mongolian roster.

It seemed as if LVG would be able to bounce back on the second map Anubis which was their map pick, however, MongolZ seemed to be well prepared and produced a fantastic 13-3 win.

With a clean 2-0 victory against Lynn Vision Gaming in the grand finals, The MongolZ was crowned as the champions of ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND 2023, lifting the trophy in front of a live audience and walking away with $25,000 USD in prize money.

Overall, the tournament produced some really exciting performances and witnessed top-notch action, delivered by eight of the best teams from six countries spread across Asia.

The competitive season in the region has just begun and this is just the kind of start that one could have expected to kick-start the circuit. It will be interesting to see what the next season of ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND has in store for everyone!
