ImbaDeejay Parts Ways With Cignal Ultra

Cignal Ultra had a rough run in the MPL PH Season 8. The team had to postpone their first two weeks of matches due to unannounced reasons. Their debut in the tournament got further delayed for another week due to the extension of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in the Philippines. When the team finally had their chance to participate, they went on a losing streak and never recovered, failing to secure at least one win in all of the 12 matches they played in the regular season of MPL PH Season 8. The team eventually failed to secure a spot in the playoffs and was ranked the lowest in the overall ranking.

A few days after the tournament’s conclusion, Cignal Ultra’s mid-laner Douglas "ImbaDeejay" Joseph Bondoc Astibe II announced his departure from the team’s MLBB roster on his social media accounts.

ImbaDeejay is one of the best players in Cignal Ultra, widely known for his favorite heroes Valir, Pharsa, and Rafaela. The pro player has been with Cignal Ultra since MPL PH Season 6 and has brought numerous victories from tournaments such as the Juicy Legends Grand Tournament 2020, NXT Pro Invitational 2020, and the ONE Esports Mobile Legends Invitational.

Since the pro player’s departure, he has been casually streaming Mobile Legends on his Facebook page while also on the lookout for any team who is willing to take him.

The reason behind the pro player’s departure and which team he will be joining for the upcoming tournament remains a mystery. Cignal Ultra is yet to reveal its plans for the upcoming MPL PH Season 8.
