Global Esports Knocked Out of VCT 2023 Pacific League by Dominant Team Secret

The final blow has been dealt to Global Esports by the dominant Team Secret in their final regular season match of the VCT 2023 Pacific League. The South Asian representatives tried to put up a valiant fight but fell short on both maps, Haven and Lotus, resulting in their elimination from the tournament.

On the other hand, Team Secret was able to register consecutive 2-0 victories to qualify for the playoffs which are scheduled to take place from 19^th to 28^th May.

Currently placed fifth on the leaderboard, Team Secret's final placement will be decided after the match between RRQ and Paper Rex takes tomorrow, 16^th May. It will also determine matchups for the upper-bracket quarterfinals of the playoffs.

After struggling through most parts of the regular season through which only six of the ten competing teams were supposed to qualify for the playoffs, Global Esports received the final nail in the coffin following a clean sweep by Team Secret.

An inconsistent performance by Ganesh "SkRossi" Gangadhar proved to be a huge hindrance for the side. The talented prodigy, Cahya "Monyet" Nugraha, once again proved to be an effective controller but limited success on other ends stretched the team too thin.

Team Secret having gained massive momentum and confidence after handing a clean 2-0 defeat to the indomitable DRX were unstoppable once again. They handled every situation with ease, maintaining their composure, and never seemed unfazed by anything thrown their way.

It was the youngster, Jeremy "Jremy" Cabrera, who was named as the MVP of this series for his impactful performances with Raze and Killjoy.

The loss resulted in Global Esports getting knocked out of the tournament with a bottom-four finish guaranteed on the leaderboard for the side. However, a victory would have resulted in a three-way tie between Global Esports, Gen.G Esports, and Team Secret, their placement on the leaderboard depending on map difference.

This would have raised the stakes associated with the match between RRQ and Paper Rex to another level. However, now things are a lot simpler, if RRQ wins they take the last qualification spot, and if they lose it all comes down to map difference.
