The Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) is set to kick off today with a brand-new league format. There will be multiple regional events for Europe, North America, Oceania and South America leading up to the Rocket League Championship Series main event. It will be the first time Rocket League adopts a “best of sets” format for its competitive events. The organizers decided to not host an in-person Rocket League Championship Series for 2021 and all of the events will be held online. Here is everything you need to know about Rocket League’s biggest event of 2021 featuring the best teams from across the globe.
Here is a full list of participating teams at the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) 2021.
The new format, dubbed "Best-of Sets," can have up to three "Best-of" series within each set. The first team to win two Best-of Series wins the Best-of Set. In the RLCS X Championships, there will be a combination of "Best-of-5 Sets" and "Best-of-7 Sets" depending on the stage of the tournament.
The Oceanic and South American RLCS X Championships will feature the two top teams from each region facing off in a single Best-of-7 Set to determine the winner, while the top six teams from Europe and North America respectively will face off in a Page Playoff format.
The event will feature a total prize pool of $1,000,000.
