The Philippines Pro Gaming League is set to launch that will feature two mega-tournaments featuring Valorant and Wild Rift for a prize pool of over PHP 1,500,000 ($31,200). There is no official word on the Wild Rift event structure, PGPL has shared details on the Valorant Challengers tournament which will be open to teams from the Philippines only. The first split of the tournament is free to enter and will run from Jan 20th to Jan 24th.
The Valorant 2021 Challengers event will be divided into three parts and will last a total of six weeks. The first Challengers tournament will feature an online-only format in accordance with the country’s pandemic safety measures. Two teams will qualify for the Masters event from the first split.
Mark Navarro of Mineski Philippines revealed "We are excited to develop new gaming talent in the Philippines. As the largest multi-game esports league in the country, we invite all gamers to find their home in the PPGL. In the years to come, we want to take pride in having one of our homegrown talents win it all in the international scene.”
Registration for the second split will run from Jan 20 to Feb 7 and the registration for the third tournament will run from Jan 20 to Feb 25. PPGL has requested participants and fans to follow the PPGL Facebook page.
