Beyond The Summit has announced the return of the BTS Pro Series with a brand new tournament featuring Southeast Asia and the Americas. The Pro Series started on May 25, 2021, for both regions, with eight teams participating per region, and features a $50,000 prize pool in both regions which will be divided among eight teams. With only eight teams in the tournament itself, this means that even the team that finishes last still wins a tiny sum. The Pro Series will be an online tournament. With the end of the DPC season, this Pro Series provides teams with a different source of competitive play and income.
Eight teams will play a single round-robin group stage with BO2s from which the top four teams will advance to the Upper Bracket of the playoffs while the bottom four teams enter the Lower Bracket of the playoffs.
The Playoffs will feature a double elimination bracket into which teams are seeded by their standings in the group stage. All games will be BO3s except for the Grand Finals, which will be a Bo5. The exact schedule of the playoffs has yet to be announced. We do know, however, that the Grand Finals will take place on June 6th, 2021.
There will be eight teams directly invited in both regions of the BTS Pro Series.
The Pro Series will have a prize pool of $50,000 in both regions which will be spread among the teams as follows:
This event is not part of the Dota Pro Circuit and will not award any DPC points to the teams.
