TNC Predator has officially released Febby and Kpii from their roster. This comes after the Filipino giants failed to reach the first Major of the 2021 DPC season earlier this year with its lineup featuring Kim "Febby" Yong-min as their captain and Damien "kpii" Chok as its offlaner. TNC remained complimentary about kpii and Febby’s services to the team but stated that "the team decided to move towards greater heights and agreed to part ways" with the two players. The players also remained amicable in their parting posts made on Twitter.
Kpii was one of TNC Predator's longest-serving players, spending over 17 months in the Filipino organization. The team has gone from strength to strength with him in the lineup, claiming multiple tournament wins and even secured its first-ever DPC Major title in MDL Chengdu 2019.
Kpii's tournament victories in TNC Predator:
In total, TNC won $623,750 USD with the Australian offlaner in their lineup after he joined them in September 2019. This is certainly a monumental change for the Filipino organization. Kpii thanked the team in his parting words but called his departure "unfortunate" after just seeing "glimmers of hope" in their reunion.
Febby came into the team as a stand-in in April 2020 and slowly made himself a crucial part of TNC Predator after some good performances in the BTS Pro Series tournaments, the finest of which came at the BTS Pro Series Season 4: Southeast Asia, where the team emerged as the winners. Overall the team won $61,250 in prize winnings, with Febby in the lineup.
In his parting words, Febby thanked the org for allowing him to compete with world-class players and apologized to its fans for not performing to the expectations.
So currently, TNC Predator's lineup only has 3 players heading into the second season of the DPC 2021:
It will be interesting to see who TNC Predator picks up to replace the two foreign players who just departed from its Dota 2 lineup.
