Team Aster Midlaner ChYuaN Encounters A Bug That’ll Not Let Him Play Dota Until The Next Day

Published On:
  • Team Aster's midlaner ChYuaN faces a Bug that will not let him play Dota 2 until the next day at 08:00 AM.
  • This is most likely due to a mix up with the Alpha version of Steam China.

Let’s all agree that Dota 2 is quite the buggy game. We all encounter various bugs, in-game, in the main menu, in the Battle Pass, etc. However, never before, have we seen a bug like the one that Team Aster’s midlaner Kee Chyuan "ChYuaN" Ng is facing.

The Bug

The player reported a bug on his Twitter which stops him from playing Dota 2 until 08:00 AM on the next day.

It states that ChYuaN has reached his allotted game time and asked him to resume playing, the next day.

Related to Steam China?

Perhaps this bug is related to the recent alpha release of Steam China which places several restrictions on Gamers aged 18 and below. These include:

  • Restricting the number of gaming hours to under 1.5 hours on weekdays and 3 hours on weekends or holidays.
  • A fixed timeframe in which minors can play games (8:00 AM to 10:00 PM)
  • 400 RMB / 57 USD set as the limit for the maximum amount of money that could be spent in a game per month

Considering the fact that the bug specifically asks ChYuaN to try again at 08:00 AM the next day, it is very likely that the system has flagged Team Aster’s midlaner as a minor and is now forcing him to follow the above-mentioned restrictions.

There is only one problem though. ChYuaN is 25 years old. He is not a minor and these restrictions should ideally not be applied to him.

It is unclear on whether ChYuaN has found a fix for this issue.
