Rumour: MATUMBAMAN to join Team Secret and replace MidOne

Update (26th September 2019): Team Secret has since then confirmed that they will not be undergoing any roster shuffles in the upcoming season.

While almost all of the biggest teams in China, Southeast Asia and North America have finalized and revealed their roster, some of Europe’s biggest teams including Team Secret, Team Liquid, OG and Virtus.Pro have chosen to remain silent.

Even the rumour mills haven’t really revealed a whole lot up until today. But today, it is looking increasingly likely that a massive roster change is right on the horizon.

Lasse "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen is rumoured to be replacing Yeik "MidOne" Nai Zheng in Team Secret. 

Reddit user /u/madibariddim who was the first to break Evil Geniuses' new roster, Virtus.Pro's reshuffle and Alliance's roster amongst many other changes confirmed this change earlier today. He also revealed that the former Team Liquid lineup will not undergo any roster changes.

Midone’s stint at Team Secret

If this rumour ends up being true, it will end a near-three year stint for MidOne with Team Secret. The player joined the European giants right after his breakthrough season in 2016. He has a highly successful career since then, winning multiple Majors and a Top 4 finish at The International 2019.

The player is rumoured to be taking a break from the competitive Dota at least until the conclusion of the MDL Chengdu Major 2019.
