The second day of OMEN Challenger Series 2019 came to an end with ALPHA RED, Absolute, Grayhound Gaming, and Bren Esports making their way through to the playoffs. The day was certainly a bit low on the number of matches when compared to the first, but every match was more intense, with the stake of qualifying for the playoffs going higher with every passing round.
When compared to yesterday, there was certainly a movement on the points table but not enough to budge the top two teams from their position, across both the groups.

ALPHA Red, the team from Thailand are certainly on a hunt. They don’t just want to win but want to achieve that feat undefeated, they are the only team in the tournament who haven’t lost a single game till now, going ‘10-0’ in the group stage.
Absolute has performed better than expected, going ‘4-1’ to secure a second-place finish in their group. The only team to have defeated the Japanese squad was obviously ALPHA Red, apart from which no one had it in them to stop their onslaught.
They certainly faced a close competition from BOOM Esports until yesterday but left them in the dust as they went on to qualify for the playoffs, where they will be facing against Grayhound Gaming tomorrow.
Grayhound Gaming, the only competing team to have played in the Majors, certainly underperformed on the first day. It is possible that the SEA teams caught them by surprise, pulling cheeky plays on them for which they were not prepared, but the Australians managed to not lose a single series.
Today they went on to win both their match-ups pretty comfortably, making their way through to the playoffs where they will be facing off against Absolute.
Bren Esports hustled hard to keep themselves in the competition, despite the group being heavily competitive the Filipino squad did everything right to ensure that they did not drop a single series, settling for a draw against Grayhound, FrostFire, and NASR.
With this, the group stage comes to an end as the top four teams prepare to face off in the semifinals tomorrow, followed by the grand finale from where the winning team will walk away with a cash prize of $20,000.
