Here’s all you need to know about it.

Riot Games dropped a really important update about the minimum system requirement for running its flagship game: League of Legends. The game came out in 2009 and it continues to evolve each year. Riot Games is constantly pushing out updates and fixes to make the game better and keep it in vogue. This means that players will also need to constantly upgrade their hardware to run the game. It is absolutely imperative to check the minimum system requirements to run any game and keeping this in mind, Riot Games made an announcement about a critical Operating System (OS) requirement for League of Legends.

In a recent Dev Update, Riot Games addressed the long-term plans for League of Legends. Game Director Pu Liu said, “League will no longer be supported on 32-bit operating systems, meaning that players will have to move to 64-bit.

League of Legends can only be run on 64 bit Operating Systems

Riot Games made it clear that support for 32-bit Windows OS will be deprecated. Starting 4th April 2023, a 64-bit version of Windows will be required to play League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics.

It added that though this change sounds scary, it only affects less than 0.01% of players globally. “If this does impact you, you’ll get a message in the client starting patch 13.6,” said the company. Notably, LoL Patch 13.6 is scheduled to go live on 22nd March 2023.

The reason why Riot Games making this system requirement change is important. It said, “Moving League over to 64-bit OS lets us improve features such as our security and anti-cheat and bot detection.” Liu added that it will help move the game into the future, allowing for bigger dreams and bigger possibilities.
